Talkback: Testing pregnant women for GBS could prevent infant infection

Replies

  • Thanks for your question, lynnmusson. We'll raise it with our editorial team when they're back in the office next week.

  • I had gbs when I was pregnant with first, had antibiotics when I was in labour, they found it after doing a swab.

it wasn't routine and only reason they did it was because I thought waters had broken..if they hadn't done it then my son would have been at risk! So yes I think they should test routinely!

  • What about the testing for Streptococcus A which kills pregnant women?
