Talkback: Women still feel awkward breastfeeding in public - and we're not surprised

Replies

  • I felt a bit strange at first, but when my baby was around 6 weeks old and crying on the bus I just got on with it and never looked back. Never bothered again and breastfed for years.

Can't wait to breastfeed again, and I won't think twice about feeding in public.
  • Im currently exclusively breastfeeding my baby. I try to take a bottle of expressed milk with me when I'm out and about so I don't have to breastfeed in public. Where I have fed my baby in public, noone said anything, but I felt very self conscious the whole time. My priority is my baby, if she needs feeding I have to do that regardless of where I am.
