20 months on, how long before the milk dries up??

My daughter is now 20 months and I only breast fed for the first three months. The other day one of my boobs leaked milk! Went to the doctors and the doctor said that the bra I was wearing for instance rubs against my nipple and i'm just stimulating myself? I have a coil and am not pregnant, so how long will it take??

hi it took about 18 months for me to dry up but now im pregnant again and am leakng and im only 24 weeks :x

Wow, didnt realise it could take so long - I breastfed both mine and dried up within a couple of months at most!

OOH SAD NEWS MY BOY IS NEARLY 10 AND I HAVE BEEN HAVING SLIGHT LEAKING USUALLY DURRING SEX (HUBBY LIKES BOOBS) ALL THIS TIME . I FED FOR 11 MONTHS DOC SAYS THIS CAN HAPPEN AND THATS WHY IN THE OLDEN DAYS POSH WOMEN GOT WET NURSES COS PEOPLE LIKE ME DON'T COMPLETELY DRY UP ... SORRY
