  I'm sorry to hear that. The good thing is that it's so easily rectified now that after an operation or two she should be looking good as new! I can still imagine tho, the worry you must go through and I hope all the best for you that you and your little girl are fine.

  thankyou both for your kind replys it has been hard she is only a week old when i had her she had trouble feeding and wouldn't latch on to my breast 3 midwives tried to help but nothing so a specialist came to see her and e were told there wasn't a problem and sent us home it weren't until the next day i told my midwife she still weren't feeding not even from a bottle so she checked her out and found the cleft we had to take her back to the hospital and they admitted her to the special care unit we had to stay over night things are good now though a cleft specalist came to see us and we now have special bottles to feed with i have to express by pump every 3 hours which is tiring but were getting there thanks again x

  I'm happy you have gotten to the bottom of the feeding. Although, they should have given you the specialist care before you left! I work with children with special needs and although they don't have a cleft palate some of them use the spoon cups and special bottles to help them to drink so I know how good they are. Keep us posted! xxx

  hi my daughter was born with a cleft palate has well..she is now 12..we tube feed her till 10 months and she had speach therphy till she was about 6...and now wears hearing aids due too glue ears...she has over come her speach problems and is a lively little girl...just wondering how u doing with ur little girl.
