To the Father of my baby
Okay girls, snigger if you wish, but I am looking for a card or a poem which I can give to my OH on the birth of our baby. With 4 weeks left to go I wanted something to acknowledge our journey to conceive and carry our little one before another new journey begins.
Seems I can find a card for every other occasion but nothing specially for this. If anyone can help, or point me in the direction of a website that I can look at I'd appreciate it if you could let me know!
Thank you!
Tracey

I've never been on it myself but have you tried moonpig.com ??
It's supposed to do some really good cards that you can personalise.
I can find some nice poems from things like Fathers Day but nowt that sums up our journey together. Anyhoo, if you find anything keep me posted!

thanks

I have found a few poems. Not sure if they are appropriate. Will email them to you

they'll be with the new baby/christening cards, but if you can't see them then ask as they tend to be doubled up with something else!

POEM 3
"Remember You're Her Daddy"
Remember you're her daddy
when she's crying late at night,
when she needs a little loving
to know that it's alright.
Remember you're her daddy
when dolly's lost an arm,
when you take the time to fix it
because you can't resist her charm.
Remember you're her daddy
when she's had a real rough day,
when school's been pretty tough on her
and nothings went her way.
Remember you're her daddy
when she goes on her first date,
when you tell her to be in by ten
and she's not home 'till late.
Remember you're her daddy
when she makes you very proud,
when in a very awkward way
she stands out in a crowd.
Remember you're her daddy
the first man she's ever kissed,
and when you go away
you'll be very, very, missed.
Remember you're her daddy
remember I'm your wife,
we know that you'll love us
for the rest of your life.
POEM 4
The Best Man I Ever Knew
When we married, I saw you as perfect,
The ideal husband and more;
I thought I knew all about you,
All the things to love and adore.
But when you became a father,
I saw new qualities to treasure.
You enrich all our lives in fresh ways;
As a dad, you bring so much pleasure.
Our child/children is/are forever blessed
To have a father like you,
And I love you more than ever,
You're the best man I ever knew.
POEM 5
My Daddy's Hands
I came into the world
And reached for your strong hands,
My tiny fingers knew you,
Before I could understand.
Your hands proudly held me,
And smoothed my newborn hair.
They'd grow to love and tickle,
And toss me in the air.
Your hands are the teachers,
That catch and throw a ball.
That steady my two-wheeler,
And soften each new fall.
Your hands are the guideposts,
That set and keep the rules.
Offer good advice and wisdom,
And cheer hard work in school.
Your hands are my anchor,
As I leave my childhood home.
Shake my hand and pat my back,
As I live life on my own.
One day I'll have a child,
And come to understand.
The power of love,
Held in my Daddy's hands.
A couple of these I am thinking of using as they are so lovely. I have found a few 'to my OH' cards but they are v general and I was looking for something which sums up our journey together really so a poem like this is going to be the way to go I think!

Think this is a lovely idea and had been looking for something myself. Thanks though Tracey4, I've just read the poems you posted and cried my eyes out! Have copied them and may use them in a card.
Am 34 + 3 now and getting very excited/nervous.
Good luck to us all!! Nearly there now!
