Weaning advice please

My LO is 17 weeks and I have decided to wean him, he's started to wake more at night and always looks at us when were eating. Anyway, I've started really slowly, only offering a few spoons, anyway yesterday and today he has vomited it all back. Do I carry on and offer him a few spoons or should I leave him for a week then try him again. He's doing all the right actions.... opening his mouth and even trying a grab the spoon.

I'm unsure what to do, what experiences have you had when trying to wean your babies??? Any advice would be appreciated.
