Humidifier

Hi All,
We think our LO is coming down with a cold. The Doctor suggested putting a wet towel on the radiator to help. An alternative would be a humidifier, which we are considering.
We have seen one in Argos for ??37 (Vicks Warm Moisture Humidifier) and might buy that. Has anyone used a warm air humidifier and would you recommend it?
Any feedback would be appreciated. Cheers x

We couldnt do wet towels as we don't have radiators we have storage heaters, so i bought the vicks humidifier and ended up taking it back the next day - the light was so bright on it we couldn't sleep, and it was soooo noisy i ended up getting up and turning it off.
We bought this one (sorry it's an ebay link, i can't find it anywhere else lol:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Bionaire-Ultrasonic-humidifier-for-baby-or-childs-room_W0QQitemZ230320523168QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Home_Garden_Hearing_Cooling_Air?hash=item230320523168&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72:1296|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318
and it was perfect. it's quiet, and because it's cold air it doesn't encourage mould and bacteria, and make the windows all damp and steamy.
It made such a difference having a humidifier to my lo's breathing at night that we now use it every night x
our lo had a bad cold which kept waking him up during the night cuz he got so congested.
We bought this vaporiser from boots http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10052&productId=5071&callingViewName=&langId=-1&catalogId=11051
I would highly recommend it! The first night we used it he began to sleep thru again and it stopped him getting blocked up.
It is a bit pricey but the refills aren't too expensive. Lo has to be 3 months plus to use it tho.
Hope ur lo gets better soon x
When they are older the vapourisers are brilliant. I have used one for the past couple of years to keep my hayfever and blocked nose at bay.
