Feeling Attached?
Hi girls
I was just wondering is anybody feeling attached to their babies yet? I do and I don;t I mean I lov emy baby to be so much already but I still don't think it has sunk in yet that I am having a baby. I mean now that I am showing I feel different but i am worried i am not that attached to my baby as yet does that sound silly?
Please don't get me wrong i am not really really worrying about this, more just wanted to find out how you girls felt?

Before that, like you, i was really happy and excited that I was having a baby, but it did seem a bit surreal and I couldn't really grasp that there was a little person in my tummy!

No matter how attached I am I know it is nothing like the overwhelming feeling you get when the baby is born, there is nothing like the feeling you get and the shock of all of a suddenly being prepared to give your life for something if need be and the sense of love you have for the little being. Its a feeling you can never prepare yourself for. When I had my son it was such a shock, I wonder if its the same the second time around? I think it will be.

In early pregnancy when I felt like crap I was seriously worried I would'nt attach to the baby as it was making me feel so bad! But that has all changed as I have begun to feel better and can see and feel the baby moving and growing. Hubby says he often just sits watching me stroke my belly and I dont even realise I am doing it!
I cant wait to feel the baby move, Ive felt twinges but dont know if they are the baby yet until I feel them more and can specifically pin point what they are, I mean at the moment they could be A) stretching twinges wind C) Baby having wind D) random bubbles - lets face it there is so much going on who knows if its kicking or not!

I think its because of my bump really... I do have a baby bump but its in two parts, like a B-shape  so I never really feel I can hold it properly or touch it. It doesn't really stick out that much either.
I thought finding out the sex would help but we are definitely NOT finding out now.
Now we have a doppler, I love having a listen to his heartbeat, we've done it everyday since I got it!
But I think I am too wrapped up how I will cope when he / she finally arrives!

See when i hear the heart beat I feel really attached to it but not every day. I think I am still very ealry on and the longer it goes the more I will feel attached.

We're 26 weeks gone now and I kind of do and kind of don't feel attached to the baby. We don't know what sex it is so don't know if that would make a difference?
It's almost become normal that I'm pregnant and the kicks and wriggles are more like an everyday occurance, like breathing. Haven't quite got our heads past pregnancy yet so I find it hard to get attached. Don't get me wrong, I love my bump! I hug it all the time and we sit on the sofa watching the kicks and wriggles all evening, it just doesn't feel like a baby yet. It's more like a fish!
Oh no, I sound really un-maternal!
