Hiya mummies and babies

I can't stop cuddling Grace because i feel so bad for whats just happened.

What it is is i have been baking cookies so the ovens been on since before i started (pre heat and all that nonsense) and the front had got quite hot. Anyway. I'd just took some out and turned to put them on the side behind me only to turn back and see Grace staring at me in shock with her hand on the oven door. I kind of shouted her to move (like she'll listen at 7 month) and i think this as well as the shock of the burning on her hand freaked her out so i grabbed her pretty much the same time i was shouting her to move and ran it under the cold tap. Her little fingertips are so red and i feel a failure for turning my back even for that split second. She's fine now and actually just this minute fell asleep sat up in her walker. lol. Just had to tell everyone how much of a bad mum i feel.

Hun, she'll be absolutely fine. I know her fingers are red but even tiny babies have an inbuilt reflex to pull away from anything that hurts so it is incredibly unlikely that she would have seriously burnt herself. You really can't watch them all the time, Barney is sporting a lovely bruise on his head at the minute from head butting the bottom of our coffee table.
Have you got any spare cookies?

I just can't help feeling guilty! i shouldn't have really had her in the kitchen anyway but now she's in her walker i can't keep her in one room for long.

Its gone now anyway. I think it was just the shock that freaked her more than anything. If she's carrys on though i'm gonna have to get her a cage. lol. Only jokin.

a normal child has a play pen! Grace is a little monkey and needs a cage! lol. I use to just use the travel cot as a play pen for Ethan so i might purchase another one of those. Will also be useful when we go on holiday then. xx

hun, we'd never get anything done if we kept our eyes on them 24/7 (although it sounds like the perfect excuse)

I once sat & watched Charlotte put her hand in a hot cup of tea so don't feel bad. Sometimes everything happens in slow motion and you can't get there quick enough.
By the way it was a cup of tea of a friend and had told him not to put his tea near her!!!

Aww don't worry - i think i can beat you on the bad mummy front if it makes you feel better - i was making curry and chopping chilli's, washed my hands a bit lazily, then changed lo's nappy and rubbed sudocrem in, he screamed for about an hour

Don't worry hun, me, Paul and my mil once all watched Erin fall really hard onto a glass shelf it just happened so quickly we all just watched it, luckily she only came away with a nasty briuse. It is horrible when things like this happen but it is impossible to watch them 24/7 xx
