the secret hotels on lastminute.com???

Me and hubbie want our first night away from Max (he's 21 months) and are going to book a hotel but we can't afford loads and the prices on here seem really good - has anyone used this bit before and had a good hotel??? They all seem to be 4 or 5*

I haven't used the secret hotels bit but we got a hotel off of last minute in Edinburgh and it was fab. xxx

I have and while I didn't think the hotel we ended up in was a 4* as claimed but it was certainly a huge saving and convenient for us at the time.

I saw on gmtv that if you look at the hotel description and try and find an unusual phrase within that then type that into google you can mostly find what hotel it is. Then you can look at their usual prices and see proper pictures of the place and see if it's somewhere you want to stay and if it's worth the price.

hhhhmmm - can't seem to see any unusual phrases in the descriptions they all just seem to say unusual or unique or boutique!

i have and ended up able to work out what hotel it was from the resturant names we ended up in the hilton olympia in london and while it maybe didnt get the reviews of a 4 star hotel our room was big and lovely i couldnt fault them at all i was a wee bit worried we'd be put in the broom cupboard or something...id def book with them again but id always try to work out who it was because im so nosey xxx

Im GC from pregnancy but i use booking.com and its great always been lucky with hotels and also get good bargains. Got a hotel at the foot of the castle in edinburugh with parking etc should of been 260 a night but got it for 80 its really good you can select things like parking etc u select what you are looking for. hope this helps xx

I think the second one might be the Malmaison but not sure!

Ooooooooooooooooo you HAVE to stay in a malmasion!!!!! They are fantastic! Hubby and I stayed one that he to review for work and it was lush!!!!!!!

yes we stayed in a lovely hotel in 'little venice' just outside of london. it was far nicer than we expected and well worth the money.

Rich's hotel puts their rooms on their sometimes. Instead of starting at ??170 b&b they go for ??70 - ??90 x

Hi CC, it's not the Malmaison in Edi as that's in Leith and too far away from the centre!

I think it could be the Apex or the Balmoral

Pretty much all the hotels in Edinburgh are really good. I have yet to hear of a bad one.

Maybe it is Le Monde!!! But I can't see a pool listed for that

Oh i missed the second post............that is DEFFO Malmaison. It is 10mins from the City Centre. With all the tram works, traffic to get to town could be busy.

I have stayed there. It is beside the canal with quaint houseboats. The whole area has been regenerated. I loved it!!

So depends what you want. Personally I would prefer to be in the centre

I would bet money that they second one is Malmaison. It mentions the Brasserie, which it there restaurant.

Just book it!! Have you been to Edin before? I love going to Edin. Festival is on at mo. Going to try and get over at the weekend and catch some shows. I only live 30 mins so should try to go more often
