When to start testing??

Well I got my AF today so I am now taking this trying for a baby seriously and I am going to get an ovulation test for my cycle in Jan! I was just wondering on what day of your cycle do you start testing? I'm going to get the clearblue digital one so I can't go too wrong for my first use but I know it only contains 7 sticks so I don't want to use them all up and not ovulated yet!!! I usually have a cycle of 29-33 days if that helps!!

Thank you everyone!!

  • Hi Hun,

I would guess that you ov approx 14 days before, so I would dtart testing about the 18th Jan??

    Good luck

  • Hi pet, most people ovulate about 14 days before AF so I would maybe start testing about 2-3 days before that so you can be sure to catch it!

    Good luck! xx

  • Thanks this helps although no answer to my Q..do you think it's too early for me to test?
  • Oops, bloody iPod touch has such a small screen it's difficult to read your whole message before sending it!

I would say if you're a day late then it should be ok to test but bear in mind some tests are more sensitive than others. Superdrug and tesco own brands seem to be quite sensitive but clear blue digital is less sensitive so may give a false negative.

Also, it's more accurate if you test using first morning urine.

    Good luck pet! xx
