    Hi all!
This is my first baby so everything is so new! I had an early scan due to some pain that puts me due at about the 7th December.
I have to be honest I'm finding the whole thing pretty tough, my mood is terrible, really struggling with bloating and just feeling pretty overwhelmed. My partner and family are all super amazing but still hard not to feel a little lost with it all - I hope that's not too negative an introduction! 😅

Hey @Turtle8 welcome and Congrats ☺️ I absolutely get what you mean about moods being a bit all over the place. Early pregnancy is fairly tough. I'm in my second pregnancy, I have a son of 13 months. Having 2 kids is like a dream come true for me and I still feel crappy and quite low somedays even though this is everything I have ever wanted.

So you're def not alone. I will say that all the hormones, emotions and physical impacts of pregnancy are so worth it though 💙 xx

@cheesecoleslaw86 congratulations! That's so exciting! Although you absolute superstar for managing this whilst already having a wee one to look after! 😅
Thank you for your lovely reply, it definitely helps knowing other people do feel the same - it's so easy to start thinking I must be the only one.
I will keep focusing on the positives!
    Xx

    Hello ladies,

I hope you're all keeping well. I'm finding when I feel rough it's hard and when I feel fine I worry that something is wrong, I can't win! I've got an early scan in 10 days so that should settle my nerves.

@Turtle8 I've been quite grumpy too. I'm not too bothered about it though 😅 if we want another baby it's just part of the process.

Hi everyone, lovely to read everyone’s posts!

Think I’m 7 weeks and 4 days atm, and have booked an early scan for next week.  Trying not to get too excited as we suffered a miscarriage in January with my first pregnancy.

We aren’t telling anyone because of what we went through, although I have been open about our miscarriage.  It’s made even more difficult as my parents are living with us right now while their house purchase completes.

Struggling with the worry of another miscarriage, and I have hardly any symptoms, unlike my last pregnancy.  Just hoping for a positive scan next Monday!X

@TerriW1 congrats on your pregnancy! I hope you're feeling less anxious day by day. A good scan at 8 weeks with a heartbeat seen is statistically really positive in terms of the pregnancy continuing so I'm sure that will give you a lot of relief. Sorry to hear about your miscarriage, what a lot to go through. Makes this baby even more special. Do you know how many weeks you were? I hope once you pass that time with this pregnancy you'll be able to relax more too. Fingers and toes crossed for you.

@TerriW1 hello there and welcome. I will be thinking about you today ❤️ hoping for a positive and exciting scan day for you ❤️

I had an early scan yesterday and thankfully all was well 🙏 I'm 9 weeks today with a due date of 19th Dec, all being well.

Hope everyone is keeping well xxx

Hello everyone and great news on your scan @cheesecoleslaw86

I've booked a private scan for between 9/10 weeks and have my HSE scan at 12+4 in hospital clinic.

Will a scan at 9/10 weeks be vaginal or abdominal? I'm trying to hold off as much as I can to get a better chance of seeing something babylike !

Sickness started in earnest this past week (around 7 week mark) ...no vomitting but nausea and retching from 6am-11am or so.

@AliceM thank you. At 9/10 weeks you should be able to see a baby looking bean lol I was 8 and 6 and they were able to do abdominal scan. They only do vaginal one if it's really difficult to see but as long as you have a full bladder at that date you'll be grand ❤️

I feel for you with the nausea 🤢 mine gets much, much worse as day goes on. By the time my son is in bed I am done and crawl in 🙈 hope it passes soon xx

Oh @cheesecoleslaw86 that sounds exhausting! Especially when you have a little one to look after while feeling rubbish.

Today I have no nausea! Yesterday it didn't last as long but today I woke up and have felt fine since! But I'm just 8 weeks so too soon for morning sickness to stop?
My mum tells me it will come and go some days but I can't help but panic this means something is wrong !! Any advice?

Also...wondering if anyone having any food cravings? Just aversions here...can't stand the thought of chicken or eggs, can't even cook chicken for others 🙈

This is my early scan, between 6 and 7 weeks. Only one baby (phew) and all looking great, heart beating away. Hopefully the little one is happy in there and keeps progressing.

    No food cravings really @AliceM
Just foods I'm less grossed out by. Feeling low key, sort of car sick most of the time.

I hope you're all getting on well x

@AliceM don't worry about the Symptoms. In my pregnancy with my son I had symptoms until 8 weeks and then they disappeared. I was worried but thankfully all was okay ☺️ Symptoms def flare up and down. But early pregnancy is a stressful time. Hope you're doing OK x

@Sophie2791 awwww lovely wee scan pic. It's always such a relief to see the wee bean and the heart beat ❤️

@Emma63 thank you so much. How are you getting on?

So lovely to hear how everyone is getting on!
Hoping I can bring some hope as I'm just about to hit 12 weeks and am feeling so much better on the nausea and fatigue front! Just hang in their guys  :)
(Or rather I was feeling better until I got hit with a UTI this week!) Onwards and upwards

Hey @Turtle8, it is great to hear this. Def gives hope. I am 10 and 3 now and I thought sickness had gone but I was feeling rough again today 🙈

Sorry to hear about your UTI 😭 They are so nasty! Hope you're feeling better soon xx

It's such a stressful time the first 12 weeks isn't it?!

Great to see some scan pics and good news on the horizon about feeling better  from you guys.

Have you all told all your friends and famillly? How are you navigating not eating banned things or drinking when out socialising and trying to keep pregnancy under wraps?

I've booked an early scan at 9 weeks next week and I just can't wait!

Hi Everyone, and thanks for your lovely messages @Sophie2791 and @cheesecoleslaw86, we had our first scan two weeks ago, and found we were 6 days earlier than we thought.  Still nerve wracking as she mentioned it could be a ‘struggling pregnancy’ or I was still irregular from my previous miscarriage.  Had another scan today and baby seems to be thriving, and we are 9 weeks 2 days due on the 31st of December.  We’re both so over the moon, and although we know we’re not quite 12 weeks, the specialist told us the risk of another miscarriage at this point is extremely rare.

Struggling with nausea and tiredness at the moment, but looking forward to being able to share our news in 3 weeks! Xx

Im 9 weeks 4 days and I have a strange pain I can't describe. For a week or so I thought it was a restless leg type symptom, at night when I try and sleep, and worse when Im very tired.

But the past few days I've had a pain in my right buttock come and go like a stabbing pain throughout the day.

Last night I had a flight before bed so was seated for a few hours, and was exhausted.

The pain was keeping me awake, like spasms in my buttocks and down my thighs.

Google suggested sciatica and said this is common in third trimester but surely too soon for that ?!

    Hi @AliceM

It certainly sounds like something is irritated. Is it coming down both thighs together at the same time? Any numbness or tingles?

I find sciatica is usually caused by irritation from the piriformis muscle, although unlikely when happening symmetrically on left and right legs. When it's symmetrical it's usually nerve root irritation closer to the spine. Do you have any previous lower back complaints? It's hard to say without seeing you.

I'm an osteopath and treat pregnant ladies everyday for similar things. It's what I'd recommend, especially if you're losing sleep x

    Thanks for replying!
The buttock pain is only in the right side, the pain is in both thighs but I don't think it's at same time. Seems to run down back of thighs but sometimes just one and sometimes just the other.
I've never seen anyone for back pain but a few months ago at a massage I was told I had a lot of inflammation, but higher on my back near my shoulder.
