  • Hi ladies

    How is everyone?

I am 26+2 and the last 2 days I've been feeling very heavy and my back has been aching is this normal. I don't know what to expect as #1

  • Hi ladies I'm 27/28 weeks and feeling huge ... having a really fed up day today x

my little man very active today too ... just feel really uncomfortable ...

actual looking forward to seeing the midwife this week as feel it's ages since I attended a antenatal appointment

any suggestions for reasonable nice maternity wear? 👶🏼👶🏼👶🏼 X

  • Hi sugar I'm 28+3 now every week just flies by I can't keep up lol. That's good they have given u ur medication already one less thing to worry about. I messed up a good un with my pram needed a double and thought it would fit in the boot of my car... But it doesn't lol luckily it was a freebie from a friend but means I'll no doubt need to get another and try and get rid of this one and the other 2 singles I already have lol. I haven't had anymore braxton Hicks for a long time maybe cos my bodies been through it before and knows what it need to do in 12 weeks time eeek.

Amym as baby gets bigger u will definitely feel heavier down there my little ones head is already in place from what the midwife was saying Wednesday when I had my check up so that's probably what ur feeling and they do make your back ache terrible when they have their head down pushing. There is obviously still enough room to move around but I think he's settled in for the rest of the pregnancy and I definitely have the pregnancy waddle, which my partner kindly keeps pointing out I look like I've shit myself haha.

We haven't even got a name yet my little boy keeps making suggestions his so far are john, barry, Cole, jay, the purple ninja turtle(Donatello) I think lol and my favourite hulk haha im warming to jayden/jay or I like Jake or jack or harry. I wanted my last 2 to be called harry but it won't happen my partner doesn't like the name harry because he will end up being called happy harry smiley lol I like it.... Anyway I'm off my little man was up all night being sick I had both the boys in bed with me and daddy was on the sofa as he had work. Needless to say I'm aching this morning feel like I've stayed in the same position for ages and need to stretch my back 😑 so I'm nurse mummy today bless him hope u all have a lovely weekend.

  • Amym, I have been feeling similar the last few days. We went shopping today and I had to keep sitting down because of my lower back. I also feel like I need the loo again literally as soon as I have been, so I've been wondering if the baby has moved to an awkward position like Kyrie says. She has been head down at every single scan / appointment since 23 weeks (I'm 30 weeks now) so I guess she's pretty comfy even if I'm not!

Don, I've been looking around for maternity wear and I think Asos has the best choice, if not the cheapest. I have got a few bits from New Look too. The great thing for me is that Asos do petite maternity, which is pretty much like gold dust! They also do a tall maternity selection if anyone is looking. H&M, Matalan, Boohoo and Asda all have a decent selection of reasonably priced stuff online but I haven't bought anything from any of them yet.

Kyrie, I think you should go with Donatello for the name - he was always my favourite turtle haha! Hope your little boy is feeling better now. That's really annoying about the pram - do you have any idea what you'll get instead?

  • The heavy feeling goes once I have a rest I can't walk long distance anymore or short distance come to think of it with out needing to sit down. I have pain in my lower and upper back. It gets very bad sometimes that I have to ly flat on the floor for about 10 minuates.

My stomach has also been feeling very tight then it goes back to normal after awhile this keeps happening. And I've been having Sharpe pains in my right side.

  • Amy I'd mention this to your midwife or even gp, could be spd or now known as pgp, you may need a support belt to ease it for you.

I was in hospital last week for observations as I'm extremely short of breath at the moment, even rolling over in bed is an effort. Had bloods and ecg and there's no medical reasoning for it, so no clot, no anaemia. I'm obviously carrying a hippo. I have had no other symptoms, just short of breath. I'd understand if it was last 3 weeks, but I have 3 months to go! Wasn't like this with my other 2 either 😟

  • Hope you are feeling better chelle i get out of breathe very easy especially going up stairs.

Wheres everyone feeling kicks? Mine seem to be very low down.

  • I feel tightness in my sternum when I sneeze, and I do feel a bit more out of breath than usual when walking uphill.

Laura, I get most of my kicks quite high up (above my belly button) on the right hand side. I get some movement lower down occasionally and some on the left if I'm lying down, but it really is mostly upper right for me and has been for about 6 - 7 weeks now!

  • I think she's breech at the minute because I can feel every klick low down    so I'm guessing it's her feet.

I know there's plenty of time for her to get into position I just hope she does so I can have the home birth I've planned!

Did you say your baby has been head down for a while sugar?

  • Yes she's been head down at every scan since 23 weeks, which really surprised me! I'm hoping she stays that way now with 9 weeks still to go...

Hopefully yours will turn in time and you'll get the home birth you have planned. I bet a home birth will be nice and relaxing (well as relaxing as birth can be lol).

  • Hi Lauraaa... My movement all seems to be really low down and generally on the right hand side. At my 20 week scan they said bubs was head down but I think he might have turned. I'm 26 weeks now but midwife said loads of time to turn so fingers crossed he will xxx

  • We had a hospital appointment on Friday past (29 weeks), Pip is currently breech so I feel most movement lower down. Sometimes I'll feel a niggly pain in my ribs right side so wondering if that's the head! The consultant said 70% of babies who are breech at this time still turn ... if Pip's still breech at 35 weeks we will be booked in for a section as I have a fibroid so they won't risk trying to turn the baby. Feels scarily close knowing that in just over 5 weeks we might have a date should we need a section!

  • Glad it's not just me that feels low movements! I have a midwife appointment in a weeks time and I'll be 28 weeks so hopefully my midwife will be able to feel the position she's in.

Im still unsure about a home birth but my midwife recommended it after my daughter came very quick and was nearly born in our street!

Have you all started making birth plans? Even though most of the time they go out of the window haha.

  • Wow I think I would be tempted in that case too Laura! Our local hospital can take a while to get to in traffic...

I haven't started a "formal" birth plan per se but I have been thinking about it, mainly because I have quite a few medical requirements like drugs for the haemophilia, the other special considerations that come with the haemophilia and the antibiotics for the group B strep. I think I'm plumping for gas and air only in an ideal world (I feel like I will already be pumped full of enough drugs haha) and preferably not an epidural, but I'm willing to be flexible on the day obviously!

Are you planning to go down a similar route to your last pregnancy or are you wanting to change things?

  • I had another scan yesterday at 28+5 with a specialist to see if there was a reason for the water measuring at 10.2 deepest pool but she said the biggest she could measure was 8.2 deepest pool so she reckons it was just the way baby was laying last time. she just said hes going to be big and bigger the baby they need more water. My baby is now on the 78th line for his est weight. lol and his abdominal circumference is off the graph lol I said could there be something wrong with him for his tummy to be so big and my consultant said no he just going to be a chunky baby. so it's official I'm carrying a chunky monkey!!! Lol xxx p.s my movements can be felt low down and in the middle by my belly button and he was head down at scan. Xxx

  • Lol mummymitchell I was wondering the same about our baby - she is small but her abdomen has always measured a bit ahead. At the last scan she was 19th percentile for estimated weight - most measurements were around that point apart from her abdominal circumference, which was the only measurement above 50%! I figure she's going to be like me - I've always been petite with a tendency to gain all my weight on my tummy.

  • Lol yeah me too. Nothing wrong with a chubby bubba.!!! My babies tummy gunna be bigger than his head so at least the tummy is squishy to push out lol. Xxx

  • It's good that you have a plan sugar with the medicine you'll need. I'm sure everything will be straight forward especially with her been in the right position.

Ye I'm hoping to have a similar birth I had no pain relief other than a paractemol and she was born 20 mins later - I could have just been lucky though this one might be a lot harder but I'll be willing to have pain relief if needed.

Glad everything went well with the scan mummymitchell, did think estimate his birth weight?

  • No his estimated way at the moment is 3lb 5oz. He gone up 1lb in under 2 weeks. So I will just be having a scan every month and see what size he is as if he gets too big they will induce me!! So it's just a waiting game now!! Xx

  • I have a hospital appointment next week. I'll be 28 weeks so I'll say it to them about the spd.

I'm feeling so heavy but I am still the same weight I was before I got pregnant. Haven't put up any weight at all, I think I am big but oh just says that's what is ment to happen and sometimes by accident he might call me fat but as soon as he sees the look on my face trys to dig himself out lol.

Doctors haven't told me yet how big they think baby will be I'm hoping for a average size as oh was 9lb10oz and I was only 7lb. I'm so nervous incase they say baby is gonna be massive.
