  • Hi everyone, I am due in November...its very early days but hopefully fingers x 🤞🙂
  • Me too! Will it be your first? X
  • Hello all!  I'm finally to the point of accepting the pink and blue lines on the tests, and I'm ready to be excited (though I haven't been to my first prenatal appointment yet).  Due in November with my first!

    Congratulations to the group!
  • Awww it's mad isn't it. We couldn't believe it either. Congratulations to you as well :) Do you have any idea how many weeks pregnant you are?  X
  • I believe I'm 5w4d now (calculating from last period); scheduled for my first prenatal on the 14th next month... feels like an eternity to wait!  How about you?
  • I'm the same! Does that mean you're due 19th too? Knowing me, I've calculated it wrong haha. I'm scheduled for an early private scan on Tuesday (can't wait!!) And I've just been booked in for my booking appointment with the midwife on 5th April. Are you having any symptoms yet? Xx

I think I misstated this morning!  I checked the calendar again, and I'm actually 5w6d if my calendar is right, estimated due 17 Nov.!
Symptoms very light.  Tightness, fatigue, light nausea that goes away pretty quickly... VERY sensitive nipples (but in a good way  :D )  How about you?  I wonder if symptoms are always this light this early.
  • How exciting! I'm glad you've said the nipples thing as one of mine has been super tender for a week or so now haha!other than that, I feel pretty much the same. I think there are others are feel nausea and have sickness as early as 5 weeks onwards. I'm feeling pretty lucky but I'm just hoping everything's fine! It's SO bizarre. X
  • Exactly!  I'm a little concerned to have such light symptoms because I feel like I'm kinda in the range of "normal", but I've scoured the Internet, and some people just have very light symptoms... especially this early on.  My test lines have been getting darker, though, so I'll just take that as a good sign.
.... and "cryptic pregnancies"!  Some women don't know until they're in labor, so I'm guessing their symptoms were also quite light.
  • Yeah fingers crossed it'll be okay for us both!
  • <3 These first weeks are so nervewracking.  Best wishes for your upcoming appointment on the 5th!
  • I know! And you on the 14th 🥰
  • Hi Mamas-
I’m very happy to have found this group. Has anyone already had a baby in this group? This is my first, and we choose to go with a specialist for early monitoring. Honestly, that isn’t always the best. I have had 2 transvag ultrasounds at 5 & 6 wks. Our little love was measuring small last, and our Dr prepared us for the worst. It was horrific. I’ve had no signs of anything other than healthy pregnancy. Has this happened to anyone else?
  • And hi to the both of you! I’m sorry I just realized it’s the 3 of us. Yes, it is early for all of us. Don’t worry about mild symptoms- 20% of women experience mild to none- lucky us! I also believe it can be genetic? My mum had no nausea etc. Try to be excited for your 1st apt! It’s so nerve wracking, but trusting ourselves and our babies is critical. At 6wks we could see, but not hear a heartbeat. If I could do it again, I’d wait until I could actually hear it. I wouldn’t have done early scans (see above) I think it can be heart by 8wks?
sending love and blessings to you and your little loves!
  • Welcome!  I had one friend who advised not entering forums until a little later, just because the earliest weeks ARE the most nerve wracking... so I imagine people will filter in as time passes.  I, however, am the type to benefit from collecting data.  Nobody's personal experience is gospel, but it helps me to understand that experiences vary widely, and what I'm experiencing is likely within the range of normal.

Today's a very light-symptom day, so of course, I'm trying to calm myself down... trying to talk myself out of more pregnancy tests.  The nerves nauseate me, though, so in some ways, that makes me feel better.  :D

Knowing I've got factors that make me high-risk (high bp, bicornuate uterus) make me want to insist on early scans, but experiences like yours @MC16 make me think it might be better to wait until my appointment at 9wks.  I've heard the same re: heartbeat at 8wks. <3 All we can do at this point is take care of ourselves (and thus our littles).  Love, good vibes, blessings... all of that to you!
  • Hello @CheeseLady
Lovely to hear from you. Thank you, this is very helpful to know it is generally a very nerve wracking time for everyone. It helps to feel less alone.

Gosh, I understand the need to want to take more tests. It is hard. I try to remind myself that our bodies are miraculous, and that they know what to do. A very hard concept that has helped me is trying to trust my body, and this process.

We have to do what is best for us and our mental well-being. We always know the answer in due time. And if you find you need to go in early for peace of mind, that is okay. Just having been through it, I wanted to share that sometimes it creates more agony. I understand better now why most practitioners don’t expect to see pregnant people until 8-11wks.

sending love and calming trusting vibes to all ❤️

  • Hey ladies 😊

I had a private scan on Fri 25th March and pregnancy was measuring 5 weeks... But I was thinking I should have been 7 weeks. She said that everything looked absolutely perfect for a 5 week pregnancy... I have a follow up scan in a couple of weeks time... So anxious omg!

I hope you are all doing OK... 🙂 ❤️
  • It's all I can do to not go for all the private scans and tests I can because my ob doesn't want to see my until April 14th... I even called to make sure that my high BP wasn't a serious enough concern to necessitate coming in earlier.  It's 7weeks today (in theory), and I'm still testing very positive, so hopefully baby is making a comfy little home in there.

33 more weeks seems an incredibly long time to wait!  I hope you're all doing well (and hopefully more patient than I am)!
  • Hi ladies,
Reading about your experiences has helped me to feel more reassured, thank you. I’m so glad to hear of your experience @JL2022 where an actual doctor dated you based on the size rather than the other way around, which is what happened for us and was really unnerving. Congratulations on a healthy little one!
@CheeseLady, this is also wonderful news! Knowing your doctor isn’t concerned even with bp, and still trusts that the 14th is right. I’ve chosen to postpone our next ultrasound bc our doctor was having us come in weekly (we chose to go with a specialist basically out of fear) but I’m not high risk, everything is progressing as should be. I don’t feel weekly monitoring helps my well-being.
Sending good thoughts to you and your littles ❤️❤️
