  • I asked to be told the gender at our 20 week scan and was told the nhs are "far too busy" to be doing that and have other priorities
  • Oh my gosh, the sonographer will have easily known the gender just by doing all the usual checks, its obvious to them in almost all cases. When I had mine she said, after the first couple of minutes, would you like to know and i said no! But it wasnt an extra check. I'd complain, its your right to know, if it's something they would usually tell all patients. If theyve changed the policy in your hospital that seems very unfair. I know sometimes they wobt say but that's not what they said is it,too busy x
  • Hi everyone, finally home. Was quite intense but feel a lot better than I did last night!

The heart specialist looked at his heart for ages and hardly spoke, but she let my husband come in from the start so that was good!

Basically his aorta is in the wrong place but they are pleased with how his heart is working. He might have problems swallowing etc. But at least we are forewarned. They said it is a very rare thing, as scans have only just started being detailed enough to pick up on it, so many adults may have this and not even know.

So I am hoping I sleep tonight, last night wasn't great but I am so thankful we were seen so quickly!! Thank you all for your support xx
  • That sounds like really good news @SmithL35 and I’m glad they allowed your husband in with you x
  • Yes it is much more positive than I was imagining when I was lying awake last night! They had told me on the phone that I would go in for the scan and then he would come in if they spoke to us so I am so pleased that she let him in for the scan too.

I can finally start thinking about names for him now :) xx
  • I'm pleased it was better news than you had feared, which must be a relief. Will you have to have any extra scans?

Ooh names, so exciting, what are you thinking? X
  • I will have an extra one to check on the low placenta but I haven't even been worrying about that with the other issue. They are going to wait until he is born and then do a scan at 4-5 weeks to see if they will do surgery x
  • I know it’s still scary for you but I’m glad it’s not as bad as it could be! ❤️
  • Hope all you ladies are coping with lock down! I’m getting abit fed up now! But on the plus side this little lady is so wriggly 🥰
  • @SmithL35 I’m so glad the appointment was reassuring ❤️

Where do all of you ladies feel movement? My boy is so low! Very rare I feel anything near my belly button, it’s usually all down by my public line 🙈. Maybe it’s a big thing? I’m sure my girl was higher up by now
  • @VRob123 I had just been commenting to my oh a couple of days ago that I only feel her kick very low down and she must have heard me because she’s now kicking near my belly button also the look on oh face when he feels her is priceless
  • Thank you :)

I feel kicks lower down than belly button area, was so pleased Friday night when my husband felt it :) and it could clearly be seen. I like to think that baby way telling us "Mummy and Daddy everything will be fine!" X
  • I can feel lots of movement usually in the evening when I sit down and relax! But last night was definitely something pushing out! Like a leg at the side of my belly, with my daughter I didn’t feel this much movement even close to the end! So everyone and every baby is different. X
  • My little boy is very low down too 💙
This is my first baby so have nothing to complain him too but he's a right wiggler 🥰 usually starts around 9pm or when I've just got into bed. The other night it was the strongest kick I've felt, made me jump and oh thought there was something wrong but baby boy just took me by surprise 😂 felt like it could have been his legs and hands at the same time like he was trying to get out of my belly button 😂
Love it when my oh can feel him and when he talks to him 💙

  • Is anyone getting tested from strep-b?
  • Hello everyone, I hope you don’t mind me joining. I’m 21 weeks and due baby number 3 on 15th September. My two other children are older now so bit out of touch on things. It’ll be nice to have some other mummy’s to talk too. ❤️
