Working tax credits? So confused help!

Can any body help us please, no idea what I'm doing here or even if we are entitled to anything... My partner works 6 days a week doing 9 hour days I work 12 hours a week and do overtime on top but on maternity leave atm... We have a mortgage.. We are trying to claim working tax credits but it keeps saying we live in a universal credit area so we should claim that instead? But we can't claim that we don't meet the requirements....atm feels like if you work hard you get nothing... If you sit on your arse you get everything handed to you, we need help as well!.. Just scraping by every month sick of this can anybody tell me what we can claim? We are getting the £80 a month for our son that everybody gets but completely stuck on the other stuff...help if you can please.
