Thomasland At Christmas!

A colleague at work visited Thomas Land – Drayton Manor earlier in the year and is planning on going back there for their Christmas event and see Father Christmas, apparently they decorate everywhere and they use snow machines etc.

Has anyone visited Thomas Land at Christmas?

I have been wanting to take harry there for a while but it is quite a trek and haven’t got around to it yet, apparently they are only open from lunchtime onwards. Alexia is really keen for me to go with her & Alfie as it is company for her too and its always more fun with other people.

Harry has always really liked Thomas but since watching Misty Island he loves him even more and has even more enthusiasm for all things Thomas! (I have bought him Tidmouth sheds to go with his train set for his birthday and think will buy the misty island play set for Christmas!)

I have seen an advert for it on the Misty Island DVD and it does look brilliant. But the good old British weather worries me a bit

If you have visited at Christmas can you tell me if you recommend it?

YES WE HAVE!!!!!!image But to be honest Charmaine,it was hyped up. Sorry to put downer on things, queues are worse than ever, yes there are machines that spray snow, which is lovely, but they only do it at certain times and right by entrance! Father christmas is alloted slots too-all a bit comercialised for us I'm afraid,Tom paid no attention to F.C at all!!!! More concerned where fat controller was!!!!!!! I'll put a couple of photos on,it rained for half time we were there, but I'm such a big kid I wouldn't let it spoil my day,but picnics were out,zoo bit cold to wander round,Jc was in buggy then thank god,so we zipped him u in fleecy snuggle!!!!!

Decorations however were lovely, and the kids got a free gift, but santas queue was a wait of 25 mins, only for elves to hand out books-which weren't Thomas related!!!!!  Sorry I'm having a right moan!!!! Summer my fave time to go there,as you can have proper picnic, make good use of the zoo,and so much more pleasant to walk round with small children

  • Is that a ghost in your second photo?  Too far for us to go to, and nothing like that in N. Ireland.
  • It looks really lovely all done up like that!  Would love to go, just to say we had been!

Guess Ill just have to wait untill next summer!image

  • The pictures are BRILLIANT, it looks lovely.     ALexia is goig during term time so I was hoping queues wouldnt be too bad but bet they probably would be and not sure I want to get freezing cold and soaking wet, it just sounds so magical and the pictures look it too.

It sounds much more enjoyable in the summer and I think we will get more out of it then and its a bit of a trek so will wait til then, there is lots going on over christmas for Harry anyway

    Thanks for the info

How are you getting on?  It wont be long now will it?

  • Audrey-that was probably me shivering whilst taking the photo!!!!!!!!!image

It was cute with fake snow, and icicles and such, the trees were lovely too,but as I said bit false for me,and too cold! I much prefer the summer, but again you can never guarantee the weather,so pot luck really,

I'm fine thanks Charmaine, bit tired but I was before pregnant s cant say its that!!!!!! got about 7 weeks I think, totally stumped for names though-arguments a plenty!!!! I'll win thoughimage

  • I thought maybe it was someone running past!  As long as it's dry when out, it makes going out a lot more pleasant.
