Combining breast and bottle

Hi

I was just wondering if anyone had tried combined feeding between breast and bottle. My little girl is 5 weeks old and I am breast feeding. The problem I have is she takes short feeds all the time, which is making night times a nightmare! As she is up every hour wanting milk. So over the past few nights I have been topping her up with a bottle before bed which seems to be working as last night I got a whole 4 hours before she woke for a feed of which I breast fed her then.

I am just wondering what formula is best as I have not bought any before. At the moment I have just been buying the Aptamil ready to use cartons so I need to get some formula to mix but not sure what to get as there are so many on the Market.

So ladies I was just wondering what you recommend?

i did this from 6 weeks with my son, i used aptimil, he to was waking every hour and then feeding for 20 mins, so in complete exhaustion i gave a bottle. i think we stopped breast earlier than planned because of this, but he still thrived, good luck. x

Thanks for the reply it's always hard to know what to do for the best. As I really want to carry on breast feeding as well. It's nice to know I am not the only one who has this problem because all my friends seem to have babies that sleep straight through!
