  • hi,
I had twins almost 2 years ago. My tummy was huge by the time I was induced at 37 weeks, very round rather than long. I was lucky enough not to have any stretch marks in the first and second trimesters, but they started appearing in the 3rd trimester and started itching really badly as well (measles itching had nothing on this one!). I had to go to the hospital for the specialist to prescribe some drugs for me to use, as my GP didn't have a clue. The specialist said I had polymorphic eruption of pregnancy or PUPPS - not dangerous, just very uncomfortable. I was so glad to have the menthol cream and a anti-histamine. She also gave me steroid cream to help with the bumps that had come on the stretch marks that were causing the itching. And with all that, all the itching was gone once the induction started! I forgot all about it till I saw this post. Wow! If you're going through it, don't panic. Just make sure you get

  • With our first baby I didn't look pregnant I just looked like I'd put a bucket load of weight on over a short period. I was having a baby at the same time as my friend and she had the nicest bump. The lady in the sandwich shop was surprised to see me with a baby because she just thought I'd got fat too. Lol. Nice of her to tell the whole shop.

Second time around I had a proper proud bump. It was awesome.

I wish I'd of used creams or oils to try and keep stretch marks to a minimum though. I know loads of people say they don't work but I really regret not sticking with it. I tried it twice but the niff a bit and I didn't like the smell and now I will never show my stomach again. I hate it but I have been using the cream and it is improving slightly.
