So if your friend told you....

they were having an affair. what would you do?

Replies

  • Trust my friend that she had solid evidence and truth. Go home and beat the fecker up! Laugh

  • I'd tell her to get her act together or if she wasn't happy to speak to her OH about sorting their issues out/seperating/divorce. I can't stand affairs or cheating, if you commit to someone do it properly, otherwise leave if that makes you happier.

  • Totally miss read this, I thought you meant what f your friend told you yourH was having an affair!

  • Sorry do you mean if a mare was having an affair?

  • What munchkin says

  • I think she is asking what you would do if your friend told you she was having an affair?

I think the same as Munchkin. Don't get me wrong I;ve cheated in the past and had it done to me and it hurts - but that was childish relationships not marriage.

  • Remind her what she has to lose, ask her what she's going to do about it, and say to her that as she's told you she has put you in an awkward position and how does she want you to react.

If its just someone to talk to about it then that is unfair on you I think, if she wants advice then is she going to take it on board?

  • Exactly what Hep said. I've been in this position and I've put a friend in the same situation. It's not a good place to be.

  • Id ask her Why, is her marriage over? If so to tell her h. If not then I can't be someone she goes to for a gossip. If she needs a shoulder or hand hold yes, but not otherwise. I couldn't be put in that position.

  • Nothing is black and white so hard to say really! People have affairs for all kinds of reasons

  • I agree with Neens. Just listen to her, ask her if she's sure & does she know what she could lose.

  • This happens a lot on camp, especially when the men are away, and the problem is, if you know and you carry on socialising with said person, its assumed you are doing the same, so you have to treat carefully where I live.

Depends on the friend. If it was a good friend, which it never has been, i'd speak my mind, tell her how wrong I thought it was, but I don't think I could tell her OH. I'd tell my OH, so he knows I don't approve.

If it is an acqaintaince, I'd keep my distance, make sure the other women (who always know too) were aware that I didn't think this was acceptable.
