Coming off mini pill - advice

Hi,

I've been on the mini-pill (desogestrel) since I had my last baby 3.5 years ago. It's been great, other than the first few months when I had horrendous side effects. I haven't had a period for 3 years.

I'm looking to come off the mini-pill, but I'm a bit frightened. I'm currently on a lot of strong, controlled medication foe various health issues and I'm having to be weaned off most of it. I've had life threatening withdrawl symptoms. 

What can I expect when coming off the mini-pill? If it's not bad, I'll come off now. If I can expect bad side effects, heavy periods, etc, I'll wait until withdrawl is complete from everything else, as I think I would struggle to deal with much more at the moment.
