Still undecided really, my midwife said she wouldnt have it, hubby thinks I should, so I really do not know. I havent been offered it yet though so I suppose I will wait till the time comes.
Did I read in the news that there was 5 cases of swine flu that are a different strain and is immune to the antiviral? so maybe it wouldnt do much good to have it anyway.
Sorry not much help and def alot more questions than answers...xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Hi Junie, i asked my sister (a paedatrician) about this yesterday and i will be asking my midwife today. My sister recommends me to have it but her main reason for this was because a colleague of hers didn't have the vaccine and caught the SF during her first trimester and was really worried. Her colleague has now recovered and had her first scan and everything appears to be fine but she was obviously really worried during this time. I personally and naturally am more concerned about the side effects of the vaccine and what effect this would have on my baby. My sisters colleague (the same lady) is a registrar didn't have the vaccine, got SF and everything is fine now. I just wonder what the turn out would/could be if she'd have had the vaccine...?? I will ask my midwife today but at the moment i'm thinking not to have it...but i may change my mind. Gonna have a look at the webchat now to see what that says. x
After saying I havent got the letter yet...it arrived in the post today.......so what do I do? I have the midwife tomorow so will again talk to her BUT ultimatlety the decision is mine and I just do NOT know!
I agree SnS I will probably feel guilty not having it and guilty if I have it incase something goes wrong!!!
