Hi ladies, how you all doing?

Im currently on day 5 of down regulation injections (cd25) Im getting better at the injections I think, got a bruise of the first one but havent since. Ive just got to wait now until af arrives before they book in my first scan. The nurse said my period could be delayed by up to a week because of the drugs.

Ive got a wedding to go to this weekend and another one the following weekend and im quite worried about how and where im going to be able to do the injections. Im proberly going to inject in the car. Dont fancy sitting in a toilet cubicle injecting!!!

hi everyone! image well my family is pretty much the same, nobody has ever struggled with getting pregnant.. so people kind of dont really know what to say.. and i think when you talk about it with people your around alot i feel like i'm a bit of a broken record! even though they never make me feel like that.. i cant help feeling im talking about it all the time!! so i tend not to as much !! talking on here is fantastic! to be able to share this with others going through the same/similar situation! i contacted the clinic yesterday as i'm now on day 2 of my cycle, so i have to go to clinic on 20th of june to sign forms and have an injection demonstration .. and then i start injections on day 21 of cycle.... 26th june!! image soo not long!! here i goooo imageimage .. x x

Kimberley, that's great news. Not long to wait at all. Have you received your drugs yet? I was overwhelmed when mine arrived as it was before my lesson but it made sense and was less daunting onced I had been talked through it all.

just saw on tan other thread you asked about needles, mine are standard needles Not epi pens. Very fine and only about 1.5cm, honestly they really are ok x

thanks image well when i spoke to clinic they said my prescription should be on its way. And thanks for the info on the needles .. when you have the lesson, are you able to ask them to show your partner how to inject.. i know its not a big needle but i'd feel soo much better if he did it.. i really dont want to have to do it myself.. (wimp)!! lol xx

It's great to hear that things are moving along for you Kimberley

I went to have a sonohysterosalpingogram done yesterday to asses my uterus and fallopian tubes.  The saline did not go to my left fallopian tube.  The dr didn't seem concern as my right tube was open and everything else looked great.  She said there is possibly a blockage or my left tube could just be in spasm.  I wasn't sure what to make of all this, they gave me oppotunity to ask questions and they didn't seem to think it would have a huge impact on my fertility (but it could have some).  Its good information to have....but I'm kind of disappointed I guess....

Charlie, I'm sorry to the hsg showed a blocked tube, it's hard when the results aren't explained thoroughly there and then, cos if your like me you go home, google that they said, then dwell on anything bad you read. I would definatley make an appointment with your specialist to talk through results. I have heard lots of ladies get bfp's shortly after hsg's as it can push out small blockages and 'clear out'. If your right side is all ok then the docs might not be too concerned it just might take longer to get that bfp. if when I had mine there was a small blockage on one side, which they said was a small polyp, but 1 year later when I went to private clinic there was nothing there at all it was completely clear.

its hard not to worry, but I would definatley recommend speaking to someone sooner, even just to clarify the info for you xx

Hey thanks Andi.  You're exactly right, I came home and went a little google crazy.  I still have ultrasounds and blood work that will be happening every day till friday...this is what they're calling my "investigation cycle".  Once this cycle is done we get to sit down and go oveer everything they found and discuss treatment.  I know I'm over-thinking things and I need to give them the opportunity to gather all the data/test results they need.  I need to stop forming my own conclusions because no amount of googling is going to make me a doctor lol.

Long story short, I do get to have everything explained to me in detail in about a month, so I just have to be patient, wait and try to relax.

    How's everyone else getting along?

    Hello all

I haven't posted on here for a whole month and so much has changed since I've been gone! Me and DH decided to have a long holiday before we start ICSI and we have just returned from Lanzarote. My brother has lived there for the past 8 years which means we pay for flights only. We can then just go and come back whenever we want.

Anyway we are back, totally relaxed and ready to start our journey.

    Just a quick recap;

Both are 34 and ttc for our first. Been ttc for 6 years, low motility. Had most tests done and have been accepted for ICSI at Bourn Hall in Cambridge. Will be attending the seminar on the 25th June at our local hospital and will then get dates for our meds etc.

I'm so pleased to see that things are progressing well for so many of you. I can't wait for all the summer BFP's to show up!

    Good luck all!

    xTx

hi every one image charley i'm sorry u had a dissapinting result from your hsg, but honestly i have soo many friends that have had one blocked tube and have gone on to have babies, so dont dwell too much! I had 2 hsg's and both my tubes are blocked.. they have been blocked for about 3 years now with no change! As long as you have a nice open tube i dont think you should worry too much. ( thought i know its hard)

i am now booked in for treatment image i go on the 20th so they can go through everything with me and show me how to inject, and then i start down reg on the 26th june! almost there image i hope your all ok!! xx

hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone has tried IUI first or are you all first time ivf/icsi ers?

We will be moving onto icsi if this IUI does not work. I am hoping at our meds lesson on the 27th June that there will be the chance for us both to give injecting a go, I think I will be able to do it after a while just need to be brave I guess and think of the goal!

Has anyone heard of down regging before IUI? I think this is the plan for us?! god you get told so much info and you are kinda in shock... the hand out says down regging first too. So would that be on day 21?

I agree with Kimberley 2 I know ladies with blocked tubes and they got their bfp no worries.

Hope you had a lovely holiday trottee think it def helps before the process begins.

How you getting on Andi30 xx? think we may have 'met' at the same time back in 2011! fingers crossed for your treatment are you having ivf?

Really cannot wait for my plan so we have something to work towards we will be just waiting for the first cycle day (as doing IUI with injectables).

All the best everyone hope you have been enjoying the sunshine xxx

Hi trottee, glad you hear you had a good break away and are ready for the next part of your journey x

kimberley, my hubs couldnt go to injection lesson but nurse said the blokes often like to learn aswell. Can't see any reason why he couldn't do the injections. Personally I like to have the control and wouldn't be able to let him do it. In fact he insist on being in the same room when I do it, but the last couple of times I've ended shot touting at him as he either sits on the bed or moves whilst I'm mid injection, knocking me... So he's on a final warning image

joey, we had option of iui, but as we are self funding decided to go straight for ivf, the found out I had low overian reserve so prob for the best. Yeah I'be been over on ttc forum for a Very long time, started lurking on there end of 2010. I kept looking on lttc but was very quiet. Im finding it tough being over on ttc as so many new ladies come on and get their bfps within a few months, it gets quite soul destroying at times. im loving this thread though!

im day 8 of down reg, waiting for af to arrive. Cd28 (usually a 26 day cycle) today I had to do my injection in the car as i was at a wedding and with no ice! Not ideal.

Thanks for the feed back about my SHG, I think I'm being a little hard on myself.

Andi - I'm with ya! I'm happy to see ladies get their bfp's, but it seems unfair at times when some of us try for years and see nothing and others get it after a few months.  Truly happy to have found this forum also!

Day 28 sounds promising Andi! I know the drugs can play a factor, but I tryy to look on the bright side.  Great new  for you!

thats the spirit!! dont be too hard on yourself charley though i know its hard not to be!!

and it dont make us bad people to feel a little jealous or envious of those it happens really fast for! over 3 years me n my partner have been trying and i know its not half as long as some people do but its so distressing and hard for us! To see others just fall pregnant is upsetting and knocks u back!! but dont let it take over, keep focusing on yourself! we can do this ladies image xxx

No one is harder on me then myself...I've always been that way.  Its coming up on 3 years for me a my hubby too.

Just got done with an ultrasound and blood work and apparently it looks like I ovulated over the weekend (CD 9)...very odd for me.  Slightly disheartened because we didn't time it right, so this month probably isn't my month.  Still waiting on blood work to confirm though.

Love the positive attitude Kimberley! Its infectious!  Its great to hear some encouragement

For the first time in years, I was really happy that af arrived today!!image

ive phoned my clinic and the have they booked me in for my down regulation scan next Tuesday afternoon and my 'trial transfer'. I have to continue taking the suprecur until the scan then they will tell me if I can start with the gonal f.

Side effects so far have been minimal, I usually only get the odd spot before af arrives but on day 3 of injections I started getting slightly more oily complexion. Boobs hurt as usual for a few days before af, but felt a bit nauseous yesterday and today (may be completely unrelated) I'm quite tired but its also been a long week for me.

Also for the first time in ages, i feel a real sense of moving forward, there's something quite satisfying seeing the sharps bin get more and more needles in, ticking off more days on my drug protocol. And I'm actually looking forward to each injection!! It feels one step closer to our goal.

hope you are all doing well, not long now for you all to start xx

andi that's a great attitude to have!  Its great to hear things are moving along for you image

I got my blood work results back and my estrogen has gone back up after being down low in Sunday...going to talk to the nurse tomorrow about what that means because they figured I ovulated early because my estrogen levels dropped a lot on sunday.

I'm certainly learning a lot through this experience!
