first time on injectables

I have pcos & have decided to try injectable gonadotropins with an IUI. My Dr. Wants me to start the injections on the 7th day of my cycle. I feel this is rather late. I would like to know if anyone else has ever started the injections so late in their cycle. Please help any advice would help!
