    Hi Kate,

i might not be much use as I don't have a success story but I am currently about 3 weeks into my first hormone cycle for stimulated IUI.

I didn't expect to have the obstacles we have had already as my ovaries aren't responding as anticipated and are only 10mm on my last scan and they anticipate them needing to be between 18-20mm.

We aren't sure yet if we will have the cycle cancelled as it depends how they are growing I just thought i would inject some hormones and they would react. We have so far spent in excess of £600 on just the hormones and the treatment on top.

I have read stories of it taking a few times of injecting Hormones to even get to IUI so please don't let that disappoint you if you do decide to try IUI. I'll be sure to keep you up to date if you'd like and I hope things go well for you x

Hi there thanks for the response, we haven't started anything yet but was just wondering about other experiences, I hope u guys get lucky soon :) we are in Canada and they have said it was $400 dollars for the iui but didn't mention prices for the meds, hoping we don't have to go that route but we will see hopefully in the next few weeks what's happening, I would love to hear how things are going :) good luck :)

Hi kate, oh we are in the UK and using donor sperm so are looking at around £1100 a cycle and hormones on top! It is a pricey treatment for sure! Went for another tracking scan today and my folicles are growing! They are measuring 13mm which is a relief we need them between 18-20mm for the release injection and treatment to go ahead so we may be buying more hormones yet! I'd love to hear some success stories too so im hoping someone else jumps in this thread! My next scan is Wednesday so I'll keep you updated - thanks for the luck and I hope everything goes well for you!! X

Yeah I'm glad the follicles are growing for u guys :), with us they say we can use his sperm if we get to that point but it's still going to be costly so hoping maybe if we get lucky and just concieve naturally but don't know how long it's going to take, good luck Wednesday, hope it's good news :)

There are still a lot of people trying to get help. My best friend is struggling with infertility as well. I am concerned about the health hazards and side effects of these methods, getting pregnant normally are just so easy for those who are lucky. The mums who cannot conceive normally have to go through this. Is it a painful procedure?

We are so lucky that we born in the time when medical studies have made such advancements. With treatments like IUI anyone can be blessed with parenthood. Before giving my best friend an advice I want to make sure it's safe for her and her baby.

I myself had my son naturally. I never
realised how lucky I am until I saw other parents seeking help and treatments to eliminate the dark shadows of infertility from their lives. I am just very happy to see that it really has worked for some of you. Are there any chances for the treatment to not work? If so then why?

I really hope to get valuable information and come across real life experiences here. I want to help my friend with infertility that has devastated her soul.

iui  isn't a 100% guarantee it's like any other time trying to get pregnant there's only a certain percentage of people that will conceive. They insert your guys best swimmers into your uterus near your fallopian tube's so that the sperm is sitting there waiting for your egg there's a  chance of getting pregnant  but still not more than if you were doing it naturally it's just a way to help with swimmers that  arenot very good at swimming lol, we haven't tried it yet I think that's our next step but we have to wait to talk to the doctor, hoping that it will work or that will conceive naturally but right now with my husband's thyroid issues  it might be our best option for conceiving without IVF, tell your friend to go see a specialist and they will help them to find out what is the problem and how they can fix it :)

Hi, we were looking for a Fertility Clinic for a long time,  reading reviews and then found Bristol Fertility clinic on OVU.com, there I wrote to the clinic and they called me back the next day.  After going through the pain of a HSG which the HMO made me do before my dh was even tested, he was found to have a low count (under 1 mil) Given our choices, we decided to try at least a few cycles of 100mg clomid, hcg injection, and IUI. On the day of the IUI the RE came out and told us that the count was only 500,000. I had read up on some studies and saw that our chances were under 1% with that low of a count. So I was mentally prepared to get AF and even started to feel PMS symptoms. I called the RE during the 2ww and told him that I thought we should go ahead and try IVF for the next month. He said that he would draw blood for getting AIDS test the same day he would draw for my preg. test. So I went into the office all depressed. Later that day at work my RE called to say "You're pregnant" and my first reaction was "You're kidding me!" His reply was "Do you think I would kid you about this." I just couldn't believe it...

Hello ladies, hope you are doing well now 😉 I wonder if you are already pregnant)

As far as I know, if you do not get pregnant after the first time, your chances increase with every following cycle. It usually takes 2-4 cycles to get pregnant. Also, have you considered ICSI?

Good luck to you ladies! Loads of baby dust to you 😉

    Hi Hannah

i haven't commented on here in a while I was meant to keep Kate up to date so sorry about that time has run away with me.

we have so far had 2 failed iui cycles and are about to move on to our third before starting ivf. It has been a rollercoaster but we are having more progesterone and estrogen on the next cycle as I've been bleeding on cycle day 10 on both.

no reason for it not to work so just trying to keep fingers crossed for the next time!

    ❤️

Thanks for the update, we unfortunately did not conceive with first cycle and had to put things on hold for a few months as hubby had surgery a few weeks ago( unrelated to pregnancy stuff) and is on dofferent meds to help stimulate better sperm counts, rechecking in January and then going from there, hoping maybe tonconceive naturally in the next few months but we will have to wait and see
