IVF March 2019

Hi ladies 😊

I‘m hoping there is someone out there who is about to start ivf in March this year or if anyone has recently been through ivf who can be my buddy.

We have waited so long for this moment and I’ve all of a sudden come over absolutely terrifed & feel a little out my depth.

We had our first consultation last week and when my next cycle begins in a couple of weeks I have my first scan. Second appointment is 1st of March where we are given “The Plan” and I will start down reg on cd21 which will be shortly after 1st March.

We were given a lot of literature to read when we got home and I thought I had the process down to a T but now I feel apprehensiv, anxious and excited all at the same time.

Many guidance, advice or even a little support would be much appreciated x

  • Hi, good luck with your IVF journey, feels like the scariest yet most exciting thing, we had our first consultation this week and it's information overload. Unfortunately due to when my cycle falls I am not to start the down reg until April so I am a month behind you. Hoping for lots of baby dust your way.

  • Hi Sarah784

Thanks so much for replying, it really is just so much all at the same time isn’t it 🙈

If you don’t mind me asking, when is your next cycle falling? I’ll be your buddy for sure tho if you’re looking for one 😊

  • Hi ladies,

I'm new in this forum. at the end of march I'm starting ivf with egg donation. Since we wanted the donor to be anonymous, we went to Spain. Now, in my clinic they are giving me the chance to use Ovomatch, an app that allows you to find a donor with the same characteristics as us (as far as I understood). I have naver heard of it.... anybody has?

  • hi, I’m due to start ivf end of Feb (due on 28th Feb!) I order my medication package on Monday 😱

  • Best of luck Larat84! Will be thinking of you! Keep me posted how you get on, I won’t be far behind you. Af has just arrived and starting in 3 weeks 🙈 nervous! How are you feeling? Xx

  • Nervous too! All going according to plan I’ll find our end of March whether it was successful or not! I’m excited but worried at the same time! How about u?

  • I’m keeping everything crossed for you it really is such a nerve wracking time and I wish you the absolute best of luck. I’m absolutely bobbing myself tbh lol. It’s like, you wait for so long with all the negative tests, the heartache, tests after tests to find out why it hasnt happened and then boom it’s come round so quickly!... I hope you are okay and I really do hope everything goes smoothly for you. I’m quite anxious about it all and excited too so I am here if you need to chat, I won’t be too far behind you 😊 x

  • I’ll tell u all my ups and downs! no I get it, how long have u been trying for? Im preparing myself for a negative but if we get some frozen embryos I would be pleased so I have another few chances first!

  • I’m with you on that one, as much as I’ll embrace being given the chance I’m feeling it’ll be negative for me too. But I guess we have to hold onto hope don’t we 😊 we’ve been trying for 3 years now, last year I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis and blocked tubes from hydrosalpinx. It was the hardest blow to take and I’ve really struggled to come to terms with it all. I had my tubes removed in November so I’m praying for a miracle. How about you guys? x

  • Oh wow that much have been difficult. Unexplained here, other half had a two Dodgy results but all fine on the third so they don’t know why.

  • Hi Sasissi,

I've never heard of Ovomatch, but it sound interesting! Can you give me some more information?

I've sponken with some spanish clinics, so where are going? and what's this ovomatch thing? image

  • Hey spgrn!

I asked for more information about it to the english coordinator of the clinic and basically it's an app, you take a selfie so that the app can trace your facial characteristics in order to find the donor that's rassemble the most to you. It sounds futuristic, I think they are the first one to have this app. I'm going to Ovoclinic Barcelona btw :)

  • Hi ladies. New on here but would love some info
we are currently waiting for our first consultation with a fertility specialist. I have had some blood tests already but my husband is unable to give a sperm sample due to a spinal injury.
Do any of you have any info on what the appointment will entail and how long after did you start treatment?
Been going out if my mind and googled way too much so having info from those with experience would be great  :)
  • Hey all. Just checking how everyone is getting on.
I am on day 9 of stims and had so much ewcm the last two days and twinges I feel like I have already ovulated. I am feeling nothing at all anymore. I have a scan tomorrow to find out what’s going on in there.
    Good luck everyone x
