Time frames
Hello ladies,
I will be starting my Menopur injections in a few days to see if they can stimulate my ovaries to ovulate 'mature eggs', but I have to be realistic about this and start gearing up for IVF, which we have decided to start in Jan............. if the injections don't do the trick (see there's still a little PMA left).
We'll be doing it privately as my 2nd FSH test came back at 11.5, (it was 7.5 1st time round) and very convieniently I now don't qualify for NHS funding in Surrey!!! So we are going to the London Bridge Clinic through our local BUPA hospital.
I have a few questions I'm hoping you ladies may be able to help me with.
Once you've decided to go IVF what are the timeframes..... Is it your next cycle, do you have to wait a certain amount of time (sorry if these sound a little naive) Obviously I realise you do the injections etc I'm just a little confused..... If we decide to start in Jan, will Jan be the month the egg collection happens etc??
Secondly, with regards to costs, what happens if they don't collect any eggs? We really only have one chance at this, as it obviously costs a small fortune . Do they re-charge you for repeat egg collections?
Has anyone done assisted conceptions through the London Bridge Clinic? What is it like, what are they like?
Apologies if some of these question sound a little silly, and I hope you don't think I'm terrible for asking about the money side of things, as I know you shouldn't put a price on the chance of having a child.
I wish you all success whatever your journey and I hope we can be of help to each other along it.
xxxx

I don't know if this helps. We are going private as its the only option in Ireland.
We started the whole process 6 weeks ago.
My husband has his first sa tests and hiv and hep tests
I had all my tests done.
My husband also had a sperm fragmentation test done which we were amazed by.
1 week later I has an ISI done which looked to see if my tubes were blocked (they are)
Back for all test results... My husbands results not good he has low motility and my tests also show I have auto immune disease.
This shows why I had had 3 miscarriages.
Ok now ... Im on the pill for the next 6 weeks
I start buserelin nasal spray on 25/10
I stop the pill on 29/10
I on the 5 for more hiv and hep tests and hubs as well same day ultrasound scan.
Also the nurse will go through all medication with me.
Clexane
prednisolone
steroids
asprin
Also have to drink 2 liters of water per day.
13/11 ultrasound scan
16/11 ultrasound scan
Between 18-20 Ill have egg retrieval
5 day blast later put back in
12 DAYS LATER FINGERS AND TOES CROSSED....
All in all the time is passing quickly and we are doing all the right things...
I always have hope and anything is possible.
Hope this helps
