C-Section discomfort AFTER 6 months
Hi, I'm a new user on the forum and I was wondering whether anyone could offer me advice. I had my first child 6 months ago by emergency c-section. I was 30 hours in labour and was unable to dilate. My wound was leaking blood 3 days after the operation but i was sent home. After a week at home I was rushed back into hospital with pain and was told that the wound had become infected. I was subsequently put on a course of anti-biotics and held in hospital for a week. They had discovered that my wound had opened.
My wound in the middle of my scar was slightly open for three month, but i recovered well. However after 6 months I still feel discomfort when any pressure is put on my stomach area. The scar itself is not painful and seems to have healed well, but i am concerned that the discomfort in my stomach shows no sign of ending.
Since the birth I have gone from a size 12 to 18. Could this make the healing process longer? I have been reluctant to exercise due to the discomfort that i continue to feel.
Doctors have previously advised my that any pain normally disappears after 6 months.
Has anyone else experienced the same problems?
I would appreciate any help or advice.
