Clary Sage Oil out of date!!

i am 38+6 with no 3, and have just looked out my clary sage oil for bath and perhaps massage...but it is from my previous pregnancy and ive realised it is out of date!
what exactly does this mean? does it mean it is dangerous? or is it just less effective, or does it not really mean anything but needs a date due to legislation or something?
it still has that "unique" smell lol...and as far as i can remember it always did smell weird.
can anyone who knows about these kind of things help out thanks x
