Is my baby on her way

After 4 days of tightenings and a show at 36 week and see my midwife she told me my baby's head was 3/5 in position and sending me to hospital for them to check me , and confirm tightenings and show, they send me home , and I'm still no the wiser , Been told so many different things I'm confused, please help if you can, does this mean my baby is on her way or still got a bit to go, as I have gbs and scared of leaving it too late before labour but don't want to waste time going to hospital as they get funny when you go back, I'm still having tightenings but there irregular but getting stronger, Plz help
