A due date is just an estimated date. Lots of hospitals like to induce babies when they get to 10 days overdue but, unless there is a medical reason to do so, there's no reason to rush a baby with medical interventions like inductions if you don't want to. My son was born at 41 weeks + 6 days and I was lucky to get the home birth I wanted without any interventions. Hope your girlfriend is doing ok
What is induce
To induce is a baby is when a labour is started artificially instead of waiting for the baby to start it off itself. This is done in hospital by using a gel or medication to try to kick start labour.
