How far past the due date is she ? Unless things have changed recently they don't let you go more than 2 weeks over but I think they like to get things going sooner than that. There is also things you can do at home that may help things along
Yes you can go past your due date, many babies do (Both my girls were one week overdue).
Normally the midwife will book a date for induction once you reach full term at 40wks, if baby doesn't come on their own before this date then they will ask you to go into hospital for monitoring & they will attempt to start labour off.
Induction can take several forms - ARM is when they break your waters for you, Pessary when they insert a pessary into the cervix to help it dilate & trigger contractions or they can use an induction drip which helps regulate contractions.
