stretch and sweep

I am 37 weeks pregnant and been told I am big and that the baby was scaned yesterday and been told she is big too. The consultant wants to do a stretch and sweep next wednesday but not sure how long afterwards would likely to go into labour. This is my fourth child and two of my previous pregnancies i was induced but dont recall this proceedure, witht he two i was induced i went into labour within a couple of hours tops. Need to get some idea as hubby is aboard with work at the moment and need to see if he needs to come home early or not.

Any one knows more about it or had it done before how long afterwards did you go into labour or did it not work for you?
