Hiya, I had my 1st baby on the 22nd of May and had a 3rd degree tear. Now the stitches have dissolved and I'm left with a small tear on my perineum, which bleeds a little bit and is quite itchy, Has anyone else had a 3rd degree tear and have this happen or is there something wrong? Have been dishcarged from my midwife so dont really know who to call to ask about this. Any tips or advice is really welcome just so i know what to do about it??

    I had an episiotomy and after around 2 weeks noticed that it was 'damp' with a little clear fluid. I went to my GP and she said that the stitches had dissolved and that the wound heals from inside out and as the stitches were gone the outer bit was a small bit open but still healing fine. Sure enough, a week later it was fine. If you're in anyway concerned though, go see your GP.
