low lyong placenta - is a caesearean a must?

hi all

i have a friend who is in late satages of pregnancy. she has been told tht as she has a low lyong placenta, if it is still low at 36 weeks she will have to have a casearean.

i think she is a bit concerned and i was wondering if anyone else had the same experience - any advice i can give her??

xx

  • Hi pookeys aunty, i was the same although i was told at my 16 week scan i had a low lying placenta, had another scan at 36 weeks and thankfully it had moved, if it has moved for your friend then yes she will have to have a casearean due to the baby not hving anywhere to go, as the placenta will be covering the birth canal. There is a very high percentage of it moving though so tell her not to worry too much xx good luck
