  • Hi

As far as I'm aware, that means you are nearly there as 5/5 is fully engaged and ready to go! Don't panic though - one of my work colleague's wife was 4/5 engaged for 2 weeks before she went into labour...

  • it goes down not up thats where alot of ppl get confused its goes 5/5th which also means free then 4/5 3/5 2/5 1/5 then 0 which is engaged.

  • hi jem

at my midwife appointment at 34 weeks she said my baby was 3/5ths engaged, i had another one on wed at 36 weeks and it was a diff midwife who just said he was engaged & couldnt tell me how far or she didnt want to - i think its a good position to be in mind so hopefully they will come soon

    Hope you feeling well xx
  • hi i was 3/5 at 36 weeks and now 4/5 at 38 weeks and my midwife said that was nearly fully engaged now(so 5/5 is fully engaged)
i think they like to keep us guessing.

  • i'm 37 weeks tomorrow with first baby n he's still not engaged yet! does this mean he's staying put for quite a bit longer! both me & oh are gettin impatient!!!

  • i read the purple book that the mw gives at the beginning again, an i think ive got it sussed now... 3/5 palpable is how much of the babys head the mw can feel above the pelvis, so if you are 3/5 palpable you`re 2/5 engaged. at least i think thats how it goes if that gives you any help???
    xx
