Clomid Question

Morning ladies,

Just a quick question, I had a scan last week and it's been suggested by radiographer that I'd need something like clomid. I have an appointment with my GP next week to discuss results of scan but I'm just wondering if my GP would be able to prescribe clomid or would I need to be refered to gynaecologist first?

Has anyone had clomid prescribed from GP?

Thanks for your help

From what Iv been told GP's can't prescribe it, they need to refer u. However they might suggest some other tests like 21 day bloods or something I had to have those done and also hubby had a SA which they told me had to b done before my appt. As they need to find out if all ok his end first as no point given u Clomid if there is something they need to look into with DH.

But by the sounds of things n other people uv spoken to about Clomid all GPs and areas seem to b different in what needs to b done and what order.

Good luck with it all hunny x x

Thank you so much Faye, that's helped loads. I've got my GP apt a week tomo so I guess I'll find out soon.

Do you know how long a referral to gynae takes or does it really depend on areas?

All GPs seem to be different, some ignore NICE guidelines and do whatever they think (whoah, idependant thought! Have to watch that!), others seem to stick to NICE guidelines rigidly! So I think it depends how your GP is. If he's done the radiography off his own back, he might be more independant???

    Good luck!

I think it does depend. After my appt with the doc and getting my appt for specialist think it was a month and a half ish. But it depends on the area and how busy they are. Hopefully it won't take ling Hun

    Thnks guys.

Wendy, your reply made me laugh, cheers.

I guess I need to be patient and would rather the right decisions be made over my health than rushed ones, just so hard waiting!
