Advice on what help to expect from GP and when to be pushy

Hi all,

Grateful for your advice. TTC for a year, 40 shortly... so recently seen the GP with my partner. We've had blood tests which were fine. Now on scan for me and urology referral for him. Obviously it's a tough time, but made worse by not being sure what to expect and what to ask for, and you're in and out the GP so quickly they just explain what they have to in terms of the immediate. I also know that to get the right referrals from the GP sometimes need you to be a bit pushy and know what to ask for.

So any advice and tips on the process would be gratefully received. Please explain any acronyms as I'm a newbie and the only one I've worked out so far it's TTC!
