Hospital appointment

Hi Ladies
I have got back from my first appointment with the fertility specialist at the hospital.
He was very nice, DH's SA was excellent (DH now grinning like a chesire cat!!) and he said my CD21 bloods indicated that I OV'd. But he said that because my cycles have been irregular for the past 5 months that i probably do not OV!!
He said that OV is what controls the cycle and as mine have been 30-41 days its unlikely that i have really been OVing. I told him that i was getting peaks on CBFM but he said he would not trust that and that a regular cycle is much more accurate, I am now very confused have I just wasted my money and time on the CBFM and POAS every day!!
I have now been booked in for a lap & dye, he said I need it done laproscopicly (sp) as I had my appendix out when I was 14 and that could have caused addhesions and damaged my tubes.
He said it is just a daycase procedure but i will need upto a week off work as I will be quite sore, not sure how I am going to swing that as I have not told anyone that we are TTC and really dont want work to know.
I feel much better now I have had a good cry and at least the ball is rolling, just waiting for the date for Lap.
How did you ladies feel after the lap, is it as bad I am imagining? Do you get your results there and then or do you have to wait?
Sorry for the long post
