Attitude regarding testing

Hello all,

We have just experienced our 3rd miscarriage (at about 8 weeks) this weekend.  I had to go to A&E due to severe bleed.  Trying to be positive and think to the future, we are lucky as we have a healthy happy little girl but would really like another to complete our family.

I am interested to when other people in similiar situation take a test.  Our MC usually happen at around 7 weeks so we are thinking of waiting until I have missed two periods before we test.  Of course we would probably know but thinking if its not definate it might ease the pain of another mc.  Thoughts please.

  • So sorry for your losses. I just wanted to reply cause I have some updates on my circumstances. Since my second missed miscarriage in December iv under gone so many blood tests, my new doctor has been fantastic in sending my for certain tests- seens as they don't usually test until you've had 3. If this helps you please ask for the blood test- that times how quickly your blood clots. I seem to lose around the same week as yourself, and from that one simple blood test iv found out my blood clots too quickly. I have one more blood test which is day 21 left to have done. My doc has recommended that I def take aspirin daily on my next pregnancy as soon as I find out. I hope this helps, as it seems around that week I lose it says your blood volume starts to increase. I hope this helps. I wish you all the best on your next pregnancy xx
  • Thanks for your reply, do you think that this is something which my GP would be able to arrange or is it through specialist? The EPAU were really good and have offered an early scan but said no tests until it happens again as my mc have not been recurrent (1 then DD, then 2 more).

    Thanks again,

    Becky
