4 miscarriage and scared to try again

I'm 22 and had 4 mcs, my first being 17, all with same partner. We are both young with good jobs and really want a family, and doctors have no answers, there all between 6 and 9 weeks, really need some advice x

  • I've had 3 (all between 6-8 weeks) and haven't had any explanation yet either. I'm now pregnant again (8+1) with #4 but have had spotting for 10 days. Who knows what's going on! What tests have you had? I'm on low dose aspirin but specialist won't give me progesterone because it's not recommended in this country - although I've read that low progesterone is often a factor in mcs around 6-8 weeks.

  • i have had 3, first at 7wk then 5wk then most recently at 11wks. I have had no real explaination either, I have had 2 appointments with 'specialists'. The first one just advised that i had some blood tests, which came back normal. Then the second appointment (which i had to wait 6months after my last mc for) i ended up being seen by a junior doctor. he was all very nice and that but didnt have anything to add (by this appt i was pregnant again anyways) and just scheduled another appt for 3 months time-if i lose this baby- if i do not lose the baby they will stop investigations altogether.

i really would have thought that because i was pregnant again they would atleast keep a closer eye on it but NO! they basically sed just to see how it goes.

Have you had the basic blood tests that they give you after recurrent mc? they are for thyroid preblems and other problems that can make your body reject the babies?

    xx

  • Hi Ladies, I've had 2 miscarriages and I don't really have any answeres either, but I am hoping to get some in the next couple months.  My first one was at 6 weeks and the second at 12 (so heartbreaking). Since my last miscarriage I haven't been able to get pregnant and its been over a year so I am finally able to have some testing done.  Previously testing wasn't recommended because they don't look in the cause of miscarriage until you've had 3....dr's kept saying its only 2, as if that would make me feel better.  Best of luck to all you ladies.

  • How did everything turn out for y'all? I had my son 7 years ago and 4 years ago started trying again. We've had 4 miscarriages. #1 at 7 weeks and the other three were all around 4 weeks. I was on Clomid for 3 of those years without even getting pregnant once. The miscarriages have occurred while I wasn't on it. My doc is suggesting genetic testing. I just want answers :-/
  • Hi ladies

Think my Internet is playing up trying to post so I'll give it another go.. im so sorry for your losses as each one gets heartbreakingly harder and I wish all of you all the best. I have had three miscarriages. One at 5 weeks, one at 7 weeks and twins one at 8 one at 10 weeks. We were also refered to a reoccurent miscarriage clinic and tested for sticky blood syndrome and thyroids but all came back clear. I also have a bicornuate uterus but was told that shouldn't cause early miscarriages and also that chromosomal abnormalities were unlikely because I am young and only 24. We were advised to try again after feeling a little fobbed off we tried agaim. I am currently 8 weeks but bleeding for a little while now. I had a scan 6 days ago and all was ok although the last few days ive had cramps my boobs dont hurt and im not feeling sick anymore so I know whats coming for my scan on Tuesday im almost certain. I don't know where to go from here as I think ill be too scared to try again has anyone got any advice please? Thank you image xxx
  • I'm so sorry friends. Over the years everyone I know had popped out children with no problems. It's nice to know there are others out there like me. After four early miscarriages I've pretty much diagnosed myself after all the tests came back normal. After a lot of research, I think the Clomid had the opposite affect considering 3 of my four miscarriages happened while off of it. I think it dried up my cervical mucus as well. I also have low progesterone. So I've started taking evening primrose oil for the mucus and the doc let me do progesterone for the second half of my cycle. I'm going to try this for 6 months. So this is my last chance. I'm almost 32 and think it's almost time to give up. Life has passed by too quickly the last 4 years. It's time to move on. Blessing to you all and best of luck. Please keep us posted on your situation.
