can anyone explain my scan result?

So had the scan yesterday, and the result are 1. i have a grade 1 posterior placenta, low lying (what does that mean) 2. normohydramnios 3. breech  and 4. 23 weeks and 6 day by sonar age (but as far as i know, i am 25 weeks already based on the very first ultrasound i had in 11 weeks.

Do having low lying posterior placenta has risk or effect to the baby?

    Sorry I don't know anything about it but didn't want to read and run. Did the sonographer seem worried? I'm sure everything is fine xxx

    Lou, thanks for the reply. He's not worried, i just do because of what i read in google. Other of my office mates said that sometimes its normal to have low lying placenta and that it will move up as pregnancy progresses.. If tha baby's position now is breech, do i still have a chance for natural delivery since i am on my 24/25 weeks? thanks.

    google is evil - don't read other people's stories! People don't usually bother posting their stories unless something went wrong so chances are most of the stories out there ended badly.

    I''m no expert as I've never had a baby but I think they move down closer to your due date don't they? I wouldn't expect the baby to be in the right position so early on.....

    Hiya. Posterior placenta just means it's at the back, not at the front (lucky you - means you can feel baby more easily), and low lying just means there's a *chance* that it might cover the cervix at some point, but it's actually more likely to move further up than further down as your pregnancy progresses.  Sounds like you have normal fluid levels, and breech baby at this stage is COMPLETELY normal.  They have so much room in there still, they bounce around all over the place.  He/She might easily be transverse or head down even by now.  My last two babies were both either breech or transverse lie until 38 weeks, they left it until the very last minute to turn (and I ended up with two natural deliveries, and no concern from the midwives).   Relax - if there was a problem, they would have told you!! image

    My doctor said I was measuring 34 weeks and I'm only 31 weeks. He said that I have excess amniotic fluid which could be serious. The norm is 20 but I'm at 32 and 40 is the high. I'm a little scared because I've never experienced this before. Now I have to see a specialist to look at me closer every week to keep an eye on my fluid. He also said my baby is small, so there is little concern. I went online and heard some scary stories. Has anyone experienced this before?
