Engorgement

Can anyone tell me how long I'm likely to have this pair of enormous fake comedy boobs strapped to my chest? My milk came in on Tuesday and they are really painful. Yesterday I accidently fed Daisy from the same side for two consecutive feeds and the other one felt like it was going to explode about 30 mins later, it was so painful.

Do things settle down quite quickly?

    It usually lasts for a couple of days, at least it did for me. If it gets too bad try having a bath as that usually gets your milk flowing and eases them a bit. You could express and freeze it and there is always cabbage leaves in you bra that helps to ease them.

    hello Lizzie. I woukld say mine were engorged for 4-5 days and are now not too bad at all unless Grace goes over 3 hours between feeds (very rare!!!). They get pretty full overnight but its not painful like the first few days any more.
