Private Scan Tonight

Morning everyone!

We have our private scan tonight and I am so excited!

Trying not to get my hopes up about what we might, or might not see - just in case my dates are a bit iffy.

According to the doctors I'm 7+2 today so cross you fingers for us image

12/13 weeks to see that everything is ok just feels like forever, I just want the reassurance that he is where he should be and everything looks alright!

App is at 8:15 tonight so I'll let you know how it goes.

If the company are any good I'll post a link or something. We shopped about and these were the cheapest, so might help out other anxious, stressing, panicking and generally flapping mummies in waiting!

xx

Ooooh fanicles does your NHS EPAU offer extra scans at a cost? (sorry if I've completely got the wrong end of the stick there) x

Hmm not sure if they do NHS ones too, I just googled early scan in kent and it came up with the EPAU at a place called Benenden Hospital and it seemed pretty reasonable! will let you know tomorrow!

The doctors said we'd get an early scan and the consultant implied that too but the midwife, at our booking appointment, said that they don't do them now. Got my scan date through for 12 wks 2 days. I'm also however concerned about something else she said re consultant appointment. (I'm on shared care) I had grade three cells removed from my cervix in 2006 and the consultant said I might struggle to carry to full term as quite a bit of my cervix was taken away. They'd monitor and see if I needed stitches to help support the pregnancy. She said something about been seen at 26 weeks by the consultant. I know someone who is in exactly same position, same history re cervix and clomid and she was seen at 16 weeks and will be seen again at 20. She's also under the same health authority.

Do you honk I should call the midwife and question re the early scan etc? It's hard to know what to do.

I think the cervix thing definitely needs checking out. A friend of mine had the same thing and wasn't seen by a specialist until 26 weeks, at which point they said she was far too late and normally if they put a stitch in its earlier in the pregnancy. Xx

Thanks I'm going to give her a call in the morning and query the ealry scan and then ask the question re consultant. I thought 26 weeks sounded too late. X

    I'm back!!

It truly was the most amazing thing ever!

Teeny little thing to see but we heard this super strong heartbeat image??

Everything is where it should be and is apparently growing nicely. Such a reassurance. They said 6+1 rather than 7 as I had thought but I wasn't certain of my dates as straight off the pill. Sounds silly I know but a bit sad to go back a week - means another one of feeling icky on top!

Me and the hubs are on cloud 9.

I know everyone has a different budget and times are tight but if u have got the money - DO IT. The instant I saw that little flicker I could feel myself calm!

Thanks for all your lovely notes on here too ladies image x

Ps - well done on your ??48! I love a bargainimage

    Xxx

Oh so pleased for you MrsE85.

I'm trying to figure out which thing to spend my money on to be honest. Currently thinking I will pay for private chromosonal abnormalities screening scan/bloods as there is a private hospital here that will do it at 11 weeks and 2 days and give you the results the same day rather than waiting for a 12ish week scan on the nhs and then waiting another agonising week for the results. I'm fairly scared just thinking about it xxx
