Really enjoyed OBEM and How to be.. Have to admit I was rolling my eyes at the "fashion" couple but thought she did brilliantly. She was so composed. And felt so sorry for the poor women who was stressed out.. Really thought about what the midwife said about women who had a previous traumatic birth and it haunting them when labour starts. I'm going to look into hypnobirthing and try and stay as calm as possible.

I know a few mums that have done the elimination communication and bed sharing etc, I have no problem with how anyone wants to raise their children as long as the kids are happy. But why do we women have to be soooo judgmental about others??? We're all different and should just accept that!

i can't help but think the elimination communication thing would be good to do, possibly not leaving them nappyless from birth but still paying attention to the childs signs of needing the loo, then once they start walking removing the nappy, potty training could be done so much sooner and simpler by using this method. one thing i don't understand tho is how do u recognise your babies needs to go loo when you're asleep, i wouldn't fancy waking up laying in a puddle of wee or something worse each morning.

urgh, I wanted to hit that fashion guy out of OBEM with a frying pan, he was so camp and annoying did you see her face when he was sucking on the gas and air. He was such a douche bag. The other woman who was scared about having to have forceps... omg she had a lil chunk, was cute reminded me of my first child. Her other half went on about food the whole way through and said if he could he would take 5% of the pain for her.. how generous lol.

I have started leaving my youngest's nappy off at home to try and get him to use the potty but there is no way I would consider sharing my bed with the baby from birth, not only does it increase the risk of the baby being smothered but I don't fancy waking up covered in pee or poo and you're setting a rod for your own back... if you ever want a sex life again should be interesting when sharing the bed with your child. I think there quite a few hippies on that programme. What about the woman who didn't put a helmet on her baby... I think the Cyclist Association and Children's charities would have something to say about her ideas on road safety.

Placenta smoothie anyone!! YUK YUK YUK... do I fancy having any of my blood let alone something which was growing for nearlly a year in me enter my mouth... NO THANKS! It looked like liver. I can understand donating breastmilk to prem babies but the idea of my baby feeding from another woman's breast, is not something that I would be happy with. Wet nurses were common before formula was created in the 20th century but come on we have to move with the times. How could you be sure that the person you choose to wet nurse your baby is free from contageous diseases... what if you chose someone and they gave your baby HIV or something! I know it's worst case scenario but it still crossed my mind.

The elimination communication... this could only really work for someone who has a lot of time on their hands.

7 kids at 27... yikesy. They had a nice house though, didn't look council. It would be nice to be in a postition to be able to home school, if wanted. However, I seriously don't know how she can stay on top of the curriculum for her children who range to 10yrs old. If this idea of intergrating ages worked in school then it would be common practice. I felt a big sorry for her kids tbh cos I felt that they were missing out on making friends outside of their siblings and not having the opportunity to learn socialising and the social skills that accompanies it.

On the stripper with the 14yr old. I guess I don't blame her for not allowing him to hang about on street corners but he doesn't look like the type of kid that would want to do that and by 14 he should know right from wrong. How is he supposed to get streetwise and learn independence if his mum picks him up and drops him off everywhere. Is it me or did she look like that model that went on to be Steph in Emmerdale!!

Haha, I'm rather opinionated aren't I. I suppose just because I have my own ideas on what we were presented with, it doesn't make either of our values right or wrong. xx
