Pelvic Floor (TMI!)

Don't know if it is because it's 2nd pregnancy but I've had 3 or 4 occasions recently where I have sneezed and wet has come out and caused me to need to change pants. It's VERY embarrassing. I'm doiong preg yoga 2-3 times a week and that includes PF exercises but I never know if am isolating right muscles and it feels kinda uncomfortable...........is that how it should feel?

I actually had dead strong PF muscles even up to birth, I had trouble delivering Juliet because I kept contracting muscles back so couldn't relax and keep relaxed. What has gone wrong? Is it weight of baby now making them weaker? Will they stay like this forever? Anyone else had same?

xxxxxxxxxx

  • I had problems in early pregnancy. It was worse with the morning sickness as vomiting squeezed the wrong parts. It has got better recently. I did go through a stage of wearing Tena pads every day but don't need to now.
I didn't have any issues throughout my first pregnancy or after birth right up until I got pregnant again. Apparently pregnancy loosens all the muscles down there and that, plus having a natural birth, means that stress incontinence can be quite common.

The only answer is pelvic floor exercises. However you can see a specialist physio who will help you get them right or even give you weights to lift. I am doing the exercises when I remember but not often enough. I will see how bad it is after baby arrives.

Sorry I'm not much help but you're not the only one,
