I haven't started yet, but as we are waiting til 6 months we can give anything we like and skip the baby rice stage Makes things a bit easier for my baby brain - no restrictions!
I am finally getting my head around it all, so starting to look forward to it x
So far Niamh has had as finger food:
Bread
Toast,
Brocoli
Cheese
Part of a jacket potato
She has also had about 4 or 5 lots of baby rice.
I was good at the weekend and pureed up carrots, parsnips, apples and pears ready to start weaning properly today but Niamh as got a poorly tummy (every nappy has been a dirty one since Friday, a funny colour and smell awful!). Spoke to the health visitor today who said to just give her milk for a few days until the tummy bug has passed! Maybe I am not meant to do home cooked food for Niamh as one of the cubes of parsnip puree had to be thrown out as the lid came off in the freezer and then the carrot cube I got out for today as been wasted due to what the HV said! Ah well lol
Breakfast:
Baby rice with fruit puree (from a pouch!)
Lunch:
Sweet potato puree
Carrot puree
Butternut squash puree
Ella's kitchen Squash and sweet potato pouch (all spat out, so we quickly reverted to home made!)
Bad Mummy
A bit of Mr Whippy (courtesy of my Dad)
A crumb of chocolate cake (from my sister)
He has also sucked on some toast fingers (which he *loves*) and some melon.
I was a bit gutted that he hated the Ella's Kitchen pouch, as I stocked up on them when they were cheap!
I think I'll stick to making his savory stuff for a while, but am quite happy to use the fruit from a pouch!
Next stop - parsnips!
xx
I am now going to get my finger out and try some other things on everyone elses lists ( have even bought some sweet potatoes )
