Think BE ate my reply - but we're going to try our first group in leeds next week and Cam will be 4 weeks It's one for babies from birth - 9 months so more mums sitting round and chatting rather than play/activities. A bit nervous about going but i'm sure it'll be fine! xx
I've taken Sebastian to our local one a couple of times but then I used to go there before my daughter started nursery and a lot of my friends still go.
I think you can go to most of them from whenever, obviously Jacob might not know much about it at first but it will be good for you as you can mix with other mums whose babes are the same age (it might not seem important now but these will be the kids Jacob goes to school with) and also I find you can get advice from people whose lo's are a bit older so have already been through stuff.
If you decide to go soon let us know how you get on.
I'm planning on going to a Breastfeeding group next week and then to a bumps and babies group in the next few weeks. I went once before when I was pregnant and they do all sorts of things like baby massage and have people in to give talks etc and you can also just chat to other mums.
Am really looking forward to it but a bit nervous too!
I haven't been before now because 1) I wanted Olyvia's BF'ing to be a bit more established first before we try it in public and 2) with her being premature she pretty much just slept for the first month and would get so tired going out anywhere (she seems to cope a bit better with trips and visitors now).
the bumps and babies group sounds interesting they weren't running one in my area when I had DD but I might see if things have changed.
Also does anyone keep in touch with the other people in their antenatal classes. I still regularly meet up with the 4 other ladies that were in the one I went to when i was pregnant with DD.
We went to a breastfeeding support group today, which was lovely, not many people there, but am gonna go next week as well. it's run by Surestart and there's a play cafe there as well. Plus it's a safe place to go and breastfeed if i'm in town.
i already go to 2 on a wed morning and thursday as was going with my son. i think they are fantastic and ive met lots of people. i also go to our local play cafe and sit and have a coffee while my son plays. i would really recommened them xxxx
