Statred weaning this week!
Hiya girls, havent posted on here in a while as catch up with most of u on facebook nowadays.
just thought id see if anyone else has started weaning,
We started this week as jasmine is def ready for it in my experience and hv agreed. i thought because she was premature at 34 weeks that it would be delayed but in fact they say to start earlier as they dont have the usual stores of iron etc that come in the late stages in the womb and need the extra nutrients earlier.
We have only tried a few things but at the moment anything with banana in seems to be the favourite!!!!
so anyone else started - what have u tried? how did it go?

so far we are having baby porridge for breakfast with his usual 7oz bottle and inbetween his 4 and 7 feed he has fruit puree, we have been trying the ellas kitchen ones, his fave is strawberry and apple and hes not sure about the banana and apple! we have also tried baby rice too and fromaige frias, he is teething quite badley so he like the cold stuff!
i'm gonna wait a while before introducing mash and veg i think x
I have been a pureeing machine
The top drawer in my freezer is full to the brim of sterilised boxes of cubes of food all labeled neatly (don't think that will last long heehee)
She detests baby rice no matter how hard i perservere with it she hates it.
I have cubes of
sweet potato
carrot
parsnip
courgette
turnip
apple
pear
mango
just introducing a new one every 3 days so she has only tried sweet potato and pear and she loves them she screams at me to hurry up with the next spoon full

She doesnt drink that much milk only about 28oz a day (enough for her weight) but its like trying to feed a stone!! In the morning and evening she is fine its the bottles in between!
Its interesting to read all your weaning stories, because as you know we have no health visitor!!

I has three meals a day - as advised by the Dr with a desert after lunch and super. The desert is only pureed fruit though (nothing sweet). His fav food is banana and carrots. He has tried:
Apples and cranberrys
banana
sweet potato
carrots
pear
He has had no issues digesting any of it and is a completely different baby since starting! I love watching him try new flavours! This site is good for it:
