labour
im very lucky to have had easy labours
my first - hind waters broke went into natural labour almost 2 days later had no pain relief at all 5 hours later i had my lil Jman
Isaac - my forewaters went - had meptid after 7 hours had him 30 mins later - i had the meptid on advice from midwife to relax not for pain relief which was a good job as the cord was round his neck and he came out purple and eerily silent! - very scarey - any longer and it could have been a bad situation *shudders*
with Tyler my hindwaters broke and I was induced the following day - another quick 5 hour labour but V f***ing painful - I had pethadine after about 4 hours.
I always said i would never have an epidural but after Tyler IF I was to ever have another baby I would consider an epidural if I needed to be induced
How long were your labours? What pain relief did you have xx

1st baby, 1988 - was in labour for 2 days at 23 weeks, gave birth 10 minutes after waters broke and had to have an episiotomy to get lo out immediately. dd Kayles was born 1lb 8oz
2nd baby 1990 - elective section at 37 weeks, dd Alex was born 7lbs 3oz
3rd baby 2003 - elective section at 38 weeks, ds Jules was born 6lbs 14.5oz
4th baby 2008 - elective section at 38 weeks, ds Reiss was born 7lbs 15oz
That is definitely all I've got to add as I am having no more!xx
1st Robbie 2003- 2 weeks late, hind water broke, then given a sleeping tablet as only 2 cm, then 3 hours later 8cm taken to labour ward gas n air and after 3 hours and then 1 hour pushing Robbie was born, cord wrapped around neck 3 times, was blue and alarm went, women rushed in and he finally breathed after 30 secs.
2nd Caitlin 2008- 4 days late, had to be induced as she stopped moving, omg never again do i want to be induced, the pain having waters broke ouch twice as well, then drip, then heart monitor then prepared for c section, omg, then 4 hours of full labour and 5 minutes of pushing she was out, she cried straight away, and then she stopped breathing so alarm went nurses came in 1 minute of not breathing then she started to breathe and was put straight on breast and stayed there ever since lol
For my third im asking for c section as blood lost n the worry of both not breathing terrified me, we plan to actively try in May next year, mad i know lol, but other half says if it happens before its all good lol, men bless hey, its not their body that changes is it
2nd Baby (Sophie) - Was desperate for VBAC after feeling id failed the first time round, but went to be checked up at 38wks and because she felt like such a large baby and she wasnt even anywhere near engaged it was best all round to go for and elective section, so Sophie was born at 39wks weighing a massive 8lb 14oz.
Sorry just realise how long my post was
My 1st baby Macie was 12 days late. I had a sweep in the morning and then at 10pm i felt the first contractions. Put my TENs machine on, but was ok. By midnight the contractions were coming every 2 1/2 mins so we called the hospital for advice as they weren't painful but they said to come in. When we got there at around 1am they told me I was 9 cms!! So i was VERY happy!!
Macie was born at 5.30am with just my TENs machine and some gas and air.
I was very lucky and had a great birth.
Not sure on timings as was already cream crackered, but was monitored for what felt like years!! Had waters broken, was pushing for nearly 2 hours, but baby did not wanna make an appearance (couldn't actually fit out)!! Then had an episiostomy (sp) and forceps delivery - our wonderful little man finally came into the world on Monday 30th June at 2.38am weighing 8lbs exactly!!
This is a brief overview of what actually went on, so think i'm going to save up for a c-section in a private hospital for the next one - lol!!! However, we are eternally grateful that we have been blessed with such a beautiful baby.
